OK, so I noticed this morning that the hour hand on my Alpha PO knockoff doesn't line up correctly. At the top of each hour, the hour hand is actually about 2 minutes before the hour. Any ideas on how to correct this? I'm willing to try taking the watch apart if need be, as by the time I had my local watch guy take it apart to correct, it'd be cheaper to just buy another one . TIA!! David |

I would think it would be a simple matter of removing the crystal (I, of course, would need a hammer) and manually aligning the hands at noon (12). |

I am not familiar with the watch. Post a pic if you can some time. What tools do you have on hand? Sounds like Ken, knows more about the watch then I do, but I will see what I can find. |

Here's the watch in question. You can see the problem in this pic too, I can't believe I never noticed it!![]() As far as removing the crystal, I'd be worried about what little water resistancy it has being compromised. Isn't it easier removing the movement, then manually moving the hand? I really don't know myself, but thought it seemed easier that way. Whadayallthink? |

I would set the watch to 12 in afternoon. Stop the movement so none of the hands will move. Remove the back and depress release button the take crown out. Pull movement and all out the back. Use a bow type hand puller and remove and reset the hands at the 12. Then just reassemble, be careful not to press to hard on the hands so it does not press to hard on the jewel. This is just general info hope it helps. If you have any questions just post them. |
