The reaction to Renato is unrivaled by any whole brand I have ever seen anywhere.

Each visit we bring in thousands of watches, but each watch in each variant is (as stated above) limited production. Still we bring in as many watches for Renato as say Croton or SWI. I have had 2 or 3 SWI shows where every single item has sold out during the presnetation time, and I cannot truthfully recount how many times (at least 5) this has happened with Renato. It is absolutely insane.

I think Daniel is being very smart by making each watch in limited runs because exclusivity is a major source of pride for any collector. One of my favorite personal pieces is the gunmetal/rosetone/black MOP and that was the single most limited production watch in gunmetal. My other favorite black IP/rosetone/black CF was the single most limited production BEAST ever made (it was my Host Pick last November) and its another i really am proud to own.

Wait till you see what is in line for the Wildebeast over the next 12-18 months. Daniel and I have had some really fun brainstorming sessions and I have to tell you he is a real genius. Your jaw will drop. There will also be some very high end pieces with some really gorgeous auto movements coming over the next year as well.

Still in overall brand comparison no one beats Invicta. Not at ShopNBC, not really anywhere. Invicta is still the fire breathing dragon and their momentum is unmatched in the watch industry.

So
Renato is awesome, but mere crap when compared to Invicata? Whoever Daniel is, He should be pissed by this backhanded comparison.

Exactly Mike.......Jim is so used to just saying what ever comes to mind, he sounds like a goof.

I mean...no one beats Renato....except a few SWI sell outs but Invicta is king????? Well what is it???

He would just be better served by answering when , width and movement questions....unless he enjoys the taste of shoe leather in mouth.

What funny is people still hang on his every word...although fewer and fewerthumbsup3.gif

I really think this guy should stop posting to forum(s), or at all for that matter. His comments regarding the SAH launch were unprofessional and inappropriate. Jim also went on to take pointed pot shots at SAH/TT on the Sunday Renato show. I tuned it for mere minutes between ball games and caught his asinine remarks.

As for comparing the brands offered on his program to anything… I would caution the writer when doing so… This is dangerous considering the big I’s track record. Also, I just don’t get Renato. Perhaps I am just too dimwitted to understand the art of the pieces but they do not appeal to me one bit. They are a mere boutique brand offered in a television store. Seriously, how proud can you be at your “local Watchmaker’s” when you ask him how much all the fantastic components of your Renato Brahman Bull are worth?? And yes, people appear to believe this crap. For goodness sakes… it is a Renato!! It might as well come with an “As seen of TV" red sticker affixed to its massive gunmetal case. BLECH!!

Enough of the rant.

I would like to see the other forum’s posts not being copied and pasted into this one. This is counterproductive to all WIS. I feel discussion should be made as there is little wiggle room there as members of this forum seem to be preceded by reputations sometime undeserved. I read the other forums from time to time but do not stir the pot unnecessarily as I have no personal stake in any of this no matter how amusing it may be… I find the tolerance level to dissenting opinions very low at some of the other forums much like the tolerance level for free thought or dissention is considered unpatriotic in some corners of the country.

Just my humble opinion.

Pax...............I agree with you to a certain extent.........the problem being that most of us cannot see what is posted on that forum because we don't pass the JS "LOYALTY LITMUS" test!  So a link ar reference to comments made there.........cannot be viewed by many!

Ken... I hear ya' and had to promise to be on my best behavior to get in. I haven't posted, but do read from time to time and find some bits amusing and some informative. I just don't want 3T to have the reputation as outright scoundrels only jumping in here and there to wreak havoc. A disenting opinion on say the Renato would probably be seen as an attack leading to a ban which seems to be a poular diversion in some forums. We are gentlemen bandits and scalawags with a few n'er do wells and malcontents tossed in for balance!!

We are above that in my opininon and I certainly mean no offense by stating my opinion on this... I just think we should keep other forums content off this one exept for discussion and not outright cut and paste. Why get the same garbage posted in two places??If I really want to read that stuff I'll visit... it ain't hard to find an amusing post or two.

Regardless of where any of us stand on this we still have a great bunch of hooligans here!!

Proud to be

PAX.......no offense taken...........and agree that we are a forum "a cut above the frey", but if something is partucularly ludicrous, like this one was, most would miss out on any discussion as they have in the past, most likely, said something bad about Invicta or (SNBC's Store Brand) Renato..................and been banned.  They would have no way of viewing this heighth of stupidity unless it were "cut & pasted".

I agree most heartedly that it should be on a very limited basis, and that the typical stupid things they do, should not be posted here...................but this one was /is  snoopy1.gif ..........hysterical!!!!

I get most of my humor though, by reading Dragoon on WUS! Firegun.gif

I think you could find something absurd on any given day...

The goon is quite amusing and has it in for you as do some of the new kids at WUS. I love the"Why are you so nice at 3t but an a** here?" line of questoning. as far as I can tell you are consitently Ken... and that is a damn good thing imo!!

Thanks for the kind words.............I just like to call them the way I see them...and I try to back it up with fact instead of attempting to make my opinion fact.  But the goon is hysterical.  He is almost always wrong, insistant on his position despite the facts, and when there is no more wiggle room, attempts to take credit for the solution!!!:D

DPO22S is also hard on me, but, believe it or not, he picked up the Hammy Aviation at a TJ MAXX in Orlando for me (@ $175.00) and shipped it out here!

and...............thanks again.  I might also say it's a pleasure having you here at 3T (even if you do have "relatives" :D)!!!

Like I said "What's not to believe"...the truth is Jim has only been around Watches for 3 maybe 4 years...2 of them on Slop selling and 1 yr.prior to Slop that I know of on the Old Invicta Forum...so that is his "experience" and exactly what he stated..."any whole brand That I have seen anywhere"...fact is JS is No Expert and there are new Watch Enthusiasts who believe him to be an Expert..his biggest claim to fame so far is bringing a scale on the show to weigh Watches..but I believe TT did that 1st as well ! mistake.gif If I were a newbie I wish someone would point this out to me before I started spending my $ on made for TV Watches...all good and not to say it's a total bad experience but wouldn't you like to know who you are buying from?Like you said Pax...he would be better off saying nothing at all and staying off of all forums...party.gifHere is a pic of the most expensive Renato to date....$799. that was posted here...take a look at the IP plating on the last link to the right...a picture is worth a 1000 wordscamera1.gif

Yikes - insert foot, chew slowly.

I'd be a bit more willing to entertain js's point of view if he had years of experience in the watch world ...  He doesn't, not from what I've read (honestly, not here) and certainly not from what I saw/heard when he slipped into his current position.  And that, BTW, is OK ... everyone has to start somewhere.  I don't hold that against him.  I watched him in the beginning - gave him/SNBC a shot.

BUT, the truth is (IMHO) he's light years behind some other watch hosts.  Certainly TTemple is one of them.  That's just my opinion.

He would do himself a big favor if he curbed this kind of blather and stuck to learning more about watches.  He may be on SNBC but IMO, he skipped the prerequisites.  He's not all that.

Promoting Invicta may keep him in good with a high selling vendor but FHS - Invicta is ONE watch manufacturer.  I don't consider it to be THE benchmark.  Who does?

And as someone said - If I were Mink ... I'd be ticked at the left handed compliment.

When it comes to the supposed popularity of Renato, I'll have to say that I just don't get it. I find the Beast design ungainly and clunky, and the newer models are more of the same IMHO.

Didn't JS write off Invicta as crap prior to him being hired at Shop? :D

Since I'm locked out of the other forum (for reasons I'll never know) I appreciate seeing some of his post.

I agree.  To each his own, I guess, but I just don't get the attraction to the Renatos... any of them.

If Invicta is king it doesn't really speak too highly of the kingdom. It sounds more like a welfare state. For the last couple of years we have all been promised good sound brand names. Besides Brizo has there been any progress with their lineup? I have been out of the loop and maybe I missed it.

LOL I remember that. They were trying to rate watches by their mass. LOL I think now they have switched to the how many different names can we put on the same Asian watch marketing ploy.
