Hit local TJ's yesterday and they had the sameold stuff except for a very nice Gevril in a nice big wood box. I think it's the same one Oscar has. Tried to get a price but no one was at the watch counter. Will try again....

You have to keep your eye on the discount counter to get the "steals"............many of the higher priced watches end up there as:

1) they are a little pricey for the "typical" TJ crowd, and

2) the "typical" TJ crowd tends to go for "designer" names like Tommy Bahama and kenneth Cole.

Yes I did.  I reluctantly sent it back after about a week.  The large second hand (chrono second hand) "stuttered" as it made it's rounds.  I tried to ignore it, but couldn't.  I called Hamilton, they issued a FEDEX (something or other) and Fedex picked it up last Friday.  I probably should have kept it, because it was such a minor "stutter" but since I have two other watches with the Valjoux 7750 movement, I had something to compare it to.  Well anyway back it went.  They had it regulated very well, too.  Hope it's as accurate when I get it back.  I like it a lot, with the SS bracelet attached.  I just hope I won't regret sending it back.  I keep having Invicta repair flashbacks.  I hate to say it but I would be hard pressed to tell you that there was much difference between Invicta repair and the Hamilton repair in NJ.  Lots of similarities in "ball dropping".

Back on the TJM thing.  I have been to three different TJ's lately, on several occassions.  I can't find another Hammie anywhere. I was beginning to think that they weren't carrying them anymore.

Well.................I used the Clearwater, FL repair center, and, while I have not received the watch back yet, they have been very cordial and helpful...........as to the Invicta comparison, at least you got YOUR watch back, unscratched, no new damage and with no dust under the crystal....the other comforting thing is that they did respond and send you a pre-paid FedEX mailer....Invicta would have resented the call, had you mail it back at your own expense, and............enclose another $20 for shipping and handling.....that's IF they had even answered the phone call!

Ken:  Right on.. the biggest hangups that I had was.. it took 4 months.  They ordered parts from Switzerland and either received the wrong thing or ordered the wrong thing.  Of course when the parts finally arrived, I was queued.  When it was my turn in the repair shop, they discovered it was the wrong part and had to go through the reordering process... again.

The other big complaint that I had was when I called to get a status, I was told by the rep that he would call me back before 7:00 (his quitting time).  Never got a call.  This happened three different times by three different reps.

But, you are correct. At least when I got it, there was no NEW damage.

Consequently, my episode with Invicta repair retains its position of being the absolutely worse experience with a Repair department, to date.
