Not to offend anyone but the first Gen.s on WWS,I don't think were really first Gens because they didn't feature a LCI (locking crown indicator) I remember TT back on Shop Nbc saying that the Big "R" wanted to buy the patent ???So I think IMHO that those (WWS) were left over cases and such Sammy was trying to unload.I tried to capture the LCI in some pics .There is a window at 3oclock that opens in red to tell you the crown isn't in all the wayand closes with the same dial color to disappear

Chris

I thought the same thing when I got mine in the mail, but thought they could have cut the indicator mark out after guilloche was cut in to the surface, but before the #'s and such were installed.  The dials look the same except for the crown indicator so I let it go and kept mine, if for no other reason but to help the show.

After looking at yours the dial on the one from WSS and your real first Gen's are not even close.  They are not even the same designs.  The inner pattern around the hands on mine is the reverse imprint of the 2 you have.  That is funny.

I think your right about that (lock indicator) the first time I saw them was on shop but they were under another name that I cant remember at the moment and TT did say that on there then but I had forgotten. He did mention on WSS that they had some cases laying around and remade the Gevril 1st gen. again. That makes it hard now for me to fine the Original Original and not the remake.

Thank Chris for pointing that out  because I had forgotten about it which is why im here because there is always someone else other then yourself who may remember or see something that I, you may not see.

Great Gevril Collection Chris!... Congrats Compadre!hand6.gif....and TT mentioned that the Gevrils he was selling on WSS were made from parts that were lefteover/found from the 1st Gens and had some differences....but the dials were still hand made(2 days per dial) and that the crown indicators were not on the ones He had this time around...great catch Chris...I like the 18K quartzie ...looks like you were buying all the Right Timepieces from Slop when TT was there!and good eye to you and Eric for catching the difference...the local AD here is getting $1895. for the 1st.gens...which he only has 1 of ...I'm hoping Sammy rejoins TT at SAH and brings in some Tribecas...I really like that particular Gevril!cool10.gif Good Eye E.hand6.gif
