I decided to cancel the Bell and ross copy...for this watch. Sapphire, 2824 ETA 500m Water resistancy etc... Same price, more for the $.  The Bell & Ross copy was mineral glass, miyota and 200 meter.

Any thoughts on this scuba diver 3076 model? Looks chunky...

Pax has that model....and at first when I heard he ordered, I winced because he has a huge collection of dive watches and I thought it would not compare ...BUT...when I saw and looked and wore...IT EXCEEDED ALL EXPECTATIONS ...somebody on 3T said " even a broken watch gets it rights twice a day......This is a hugh chunker , well built for an Invicta ....but beware, it is heavy, very heavy

I think you'll like this better than the B&R clone, Eric. Very solid. As with any Invicta, caveat emptor... check the watch upon arrival. Many had loose screws in the caseback, stubborn crowns and mystery pins attaching the lugs to the bracelet. If you are bored and want to read more of my drivel specific to this watch I wrote my own review at:

http://paxman-wasting.blogspot.com/2006/08/invicta-scuba-diver-500-3076.html

You'll find I lost a screw on day one... The watch has settled in though nicely and I wore it today with mucho gusto!!

Cheers,

Pax

I had one Eric and thought it was well worth the $299. on bracelet..I traded it to Mike and he loves it!:) For $258. it is a great value just watch out for the link pins they use a single collar that if you lose them Invicta won't send you any which sux!...  Wear it in good Health Buddy!hand6.gif I ordered the Invicta COSC in SS to have a look see and I also had a nice in store credit I needed to use...I'm curious to see this SW200 COSC movt.:D

Phew I feel better already.  Unfortunately...It comes on a rubber strap...Any idea where to get a bracelet for this thing? Can I mod an oyster with a curved link by simply removing the curved link?

I don't think you can get a bracelet for it...especially through Invicta :D and the rubber strap is notched/integrated at 13mm...you may be able to mod something but the rubber strap may be nice...wait and see Buddy!hand6.gif Phew I feel better already.  Unfortunately...It comes on a rubber strap...Any idea where to get a bracelet for this thing? Oscar is correct. I got a Scuba from him and I DO love it. It is one heavy watch though. However, after I have had it on for a bit I no longer notice the weight. The one I got from Oscar is rock solid. And, it glows very well in the dark. Very well. Rates in Invicta's top ten watches. Easily.

As for the rubber strap, I'm sure it is a nice strap. But, it is always better to get the bracelet model and then buy a strap if you want to swap out. To get a watch on a strap and then buy the bracelet later will really cost you mucho extra bucks. This is true for most any watch company.

Might be hard to find. Personally I like braclets but prefer rubber for watches I am going to pound on. Also the bracelet seems to fit differently be it Summer or Winter. Suddenly, with the cooler temps, all my bracelets have a little slop in them. I do think this is an extrordinary bracelet but wouldn't let it be a make or break for getting the watch at the price you're talking about.

Let us know how it turns out...

It's tough, but...I may opt for the bracelet just to have it around as it would be difficult to find afterwards.  I tend to like the bracelets..smile8.gif

True. But the slop is not caused by the bracelet. Its you. Your body swells a bit in the summer heat (especially during the day) and your bracelet fits a bit snugger. In Phoenix, your feet and hands can swell a lot during the 100+ degree days.

In Santa Fe, New Mexico during the summer, all the jewelry stores have blue Windex available to help people get their rings on and off. Tourists go there to shop for jewelry, rings, etc. But, after walking around they suddenly find that they can't get their ring off to try on a new one. Windex works great in helping get the ring off.

The bracelet is definately the way to go on this watch. There is nothing wrong with the bracelet in my opinion. In fact, it is one of the strengths of the watch. The one I have is flat out perfect. You can always customize a rubber strap later. You CAN'T customize a bracelet to fit this watch. Get the bracelet!!!

My comparison is based on Watches that sell in the $599./$699. range which if everyone remembers is what the Scooby sold for originaly and with that in mind the bracelet fell short compared to my Stowa .. Oceanauts or Sieko which sell in that price range and lesshand6.gif....at $250. I agree the bracelet is nice and is always the way to go but this is the first positive note I have heard about the Scooby bracelet...most report the link pins as being weak and the collars
falling out without notice....not my experience but based on what I have read and heard in converstaion ..it is what it is :D Wear it in Good health Eric and at $225. you can't beat that!cool10.gif

With all the known issues on the watch (crown operation, bracelet pins, caseback screws) I have to say I never experienced any problem with the bracelet. the crown was sticky at first and I did lose a case back screw...but no bracelet issues....toon1.gif

I don't know its fair to compare this watch with those in its inflated "retail" price range. At sub three bill this is a great buy in my opinion..

BTW- refering to Eri'xs post... Sorry you missed it bud...had I only been wasting more time at work and gotten there a smidge earlier...

We'll keep hunting!! Keep us updated brudda!

I'm glad to hear the members here have not had problems with the Bracelets hand6.gif.......this post from another forum was sent to me and posted here during another debate after the release of the Scuba and it's being Swiss Made as it was being called and sold as on Slop by Eyal and YKW for $599....yet the Dials clearly stated Swiss Movt..............we now know it was not but this is a Classic yet typical hypothesis from Diamond J !
