I inadvertently bought two similar Panny homage watches - - but which one should I keep?
  • Swiss Ollech & Wajs 6497 XXL: 43mm case; Swiss 17-jewel Unitas 6497 manual wind movement; padded calf strap with deployant.
  • Russian Amphibia: 45mm case; Russian 18-jewel Molnija 3603 manual wind movement; Panny-style S/S bracelet.
WHICH ONE SHOULD I KEEP?

Swiss Ollech & Wajs:

Russian Amphibia:

The only Panny homage I see is the Russian...the O&W "Big" has no likeness to a Panny....2 different Watches..sizes and Movements....I would keep them Both:D:Phand6.gif

Nice pix, Tom.

I see these as being cushion cases but not outright homages.

Either way, if I had to choose one of the two it would be the O&W.

But that's me...

If you must pick, I'd go for the Russian.

Which watch functions better for You? Is there one which combines the look you want with superior function to the other?

I've decided to keep the Russian and sell the O&W :(.  Looks mostly - - I'm a bracelet kinda guy (except vintage).

I've changed my tune. I vote O&W. The version you have doesn't have the geneva (or what ever its called) striped movement like the ones I have. ?? That is one of the big things I like about these models.
