At the risk of severe ridicule I would like to point out some of the positives of this watch. Feel free to flame me but the watch is very unique. It truly is an Invicta original that does not look like any other watch out there by any other manufacturer. The location of the date and the way the whole dial moves to display the hour has never been done before that I know of. I just for the life of me can't understand why they chose that ridiculous color scheme and the horrible texture on the bezel and dial. |

Isn't it just a oversized bezel with a display at the 6? As far as the dial moving.... That is hardly innovative or unique. However, I don't think anyone is going to ridicule you. |

Its actually beginning to grow on me. Luckily I have some miconazole nitrate ointment in the medicine chest. |

It may help us if we see ithand6.gif Never mind found it on the slop site for the watch it is a SWIN206 Swiss Quartz from a movement according to the description on slop ....I doubt Invicta is able to get the amount of eta movements needed anymore....but the Chrono version is a Ronda 50/50:) The SW200 is the automatic Invicta has been using by the same company and all I can say is I have the COSC version and it is having winding stem problems since day 1!!!coyote2.gif You also have to remember you are reading Slopnbc where they don't always get the descriptions correct the description says Quartz and the specs say Automatic....who knows what it is ! |

The unique location of the date.............my Hammy Avaition has the date at the 6, and it is one of many! |

Thanks Oscar. I saw some of that on SNBC but not knowing the company that makes the movement I was a bit skeptical but then many believe everything they see or hear at SNBC.coyote2.gif Last edited on Wed Jan 31st, 2007 11:07 am by Docrwm |

Thanks Oscar - that was a good read. So, the patents fell into the public domain and these are essentially Eta designs. There was no mention, odd, of quality regarding these movements. Design is terrific but so are materials, finish, QC, etc. O.A. Gaspar wrote: Docrwm wrote: |

Docrwm wrote: Another Brand using their own in-house Swiss movement is Balmer which are sold on SAH by Tim Temple...I had a chance to speak with both Tim/SAH and John House who is a partner in this manufacturer with a ex-Patek Philipe Watchmaker who produces the movements...what is unique to the Balmer Wacthes besides their own Swiss Movements(link attached) is that they have complications..day/date/gmt etc. and instead of pushers to set them the Crown/Winding stem pulls out to 4 positions and all the complications can be set with the Crown alone...pretty cool imo!cool10.gif http://www.shopathometv.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=25000344&parentProductId=25000343 Thanks Oscar - that was a good read. Oscar, Thanks for the link - always interested in learning more about watches. This one is pretty pedestrian in looks but I like the story about the company and the idea of using the stem for all the controls is also interesting. I'm just not into watches that have day-date-month as if they were Chrono functions so this one leaves me a little cold.:? O.A. Gaspar wrote: Docrwm wrote: |
