GV-2 with 2836-2 ETA mov. distinct differences between them other than finish.  They are both in the same exact watch model, same retail and sold as the same product.  They are very diff., other than the gold plating that is plated on the one, which by the way is not 24K so it is alloyed with other metals giving some the idea that it could be brass, because the alloys in the gold will rust if exposed to oxidizing agents.

The nickle plate one has Incabloc and the gold one has novadiac shock protection. That may be a difference in grade but it could just be a difference in age too as the newer movements come with novadiac by default now...

Did you notice that they were devoid of a lot of the markings that the older movements use to have.  The novadiac sprigs are not fun to work with are they.  Moving the piece production to China did not help the overall quality.  The older products even using the Russian parts :P seemed to be better pieces......

As far as timing 6 one half dozen the other laying flat, the older one a year ago + is running more consistent in diff. positions and the newer one was regulated before it got sent out.  They included the timing sheet with the newer 2836-2, and it was not ETA doing the regulation.  So with out getting more into it the older production is tighter tolerance, and I do like the Inca better.  I am not planning to bounce it off the floor any time soon.
