Most people just vomit when they see it - I see beauty; an intertwining of analog and digital, in a skeleton fashion. I haven't met a sole that likes it; strange. I used to have it on a clear band, but it turned yellow. I was able to get this black band from Tissot, but now-a-days its getting impossible to find bands for it. I bought a Citizen high line chrono quartz on a cruise in 1992 and wore it through 3 battery changes before it died in 2002 and the jewler talked me into a Tissot Ballade automatic. That was the start of my WIS education. I no longer have either watch. Last edited on Sat Mar 3rd, 2007 11:32 pm by Edgel |

This is a great thread! My son only 8 is already eyeing what I have in my collection. He is starting to develop a taste, he knows what watches he likes in my collection. Also whenever he catches me looklng at watches on the Internet, he tells me if he likes them or not too. Right now he likes my watches that lume well, at this time that would be my Bathys - (passing up the Rolex and Omega at this point LOL! ). Eiither way he and my daughter will get my watches one day to pass on. All they know now is that watches are one of my hobbies, and something to hopefully remember me by later in life. :)

The watch in the middle is the one that got me started (not my photo, mine is in better shape with original crown and sweep second hand). I was a BIG Indy car fan growing up, and my dad got us tickets for the very first USAC Champ Car race at Pocono (the Shaefer 500, Mark Donohue won, though I was rooting for A.J. Foyt and Jim Hurtubise). Of course I wanted a chronograph, specifically a Heuer Carerra, but my folks couldn't afford to buy me one even if they would give a 8 year old an expensive watch! My grandmother stepped in and gave me the Endura "chrono-stop". It isn't really a chronograph but the pushers do start and stop the second hand. It has a 7 jewel Swiss pin lever movement, and I still have it. It desperately needs a cleaning, but no watchmaker will even look at it, quote: "can't get parts", unquote. It doesn't need parts, it runs and stops because it has 36 years of dirt in it! Cheers, Griff Attachment: Endura.jpg (Downloaded 21 times)
