Went to the mall last night and stopped into a watch store that started to carry some higher end pieces. Rado, Omega, tag, hamilton, etc. Last time I was there they only carried junk. I was wearing a Sinn U1 during this visit. I asked about warranty, and the fight was on with this Indian schmuck! Can I say that? its no slur to this guy, its what he is. He gave a blanket statment that no internet purchases are covered by the manufacturers warranty. I pointed to the Sinn, and sited Stowa and a Tag Heuer site thats listed with Tag as a Authorized retailer. This guy also stated that Omega doesn't sell a quartz watch. So I cited a number of omegas for this guy. He says that there all gray market so I  gave him Jareds number to tell them there selling fakes. Didn't go over very well.

When he realised I knew watches, he started to back peddle. I love to get inside someones personal space and watch what they do. I don't think I will be buying from this store. The Omega GMT I picked up to handle felt very light and hollow. I asked to see the cosc for the watch. Thats when I was shown the door.hand6.gif

You must be speaking about the one over by the knife store down from Build a Bear.  There was one person that knew a little about watches and that was Kam the rest were a waist.  Kam would at least tell you he did not know and listen.  I purchased a watch from him once or twice but he gave me Internet type pricing.  Have not been in there in a while.  Bet you had fun messing with them.

Oh, thats right. you do go to opry mills on occasion. sorry, brain fart. Yes thats the shop. And it was fun messing with them. There prices are pretty good after you haggle with them. I ended up going to the case knife shop and getting a limited edition Buck folder. I think they would do better if they didn't look at everyone who walks through the door as a sucker. There was a gentleman there looking at a Tissot, and to me looked like he was considering buying it. But the seller didn't have the answers this guy was asking and lost the sale.

You should have helped him out... am sure they would have given you the commission towards a watch purchase!

Sean I think we know which store this was.  We were down to the Bass Pro Shop store a few months ago.  We ended up walking the entire mall and stopped at all the watch retailers.  The guy in the same store I am betting was not impressed with our Bathys.  He did not even recognize who Ulysee Nardin was.
