Is it silicone or rubber? Going with the Titanic theme or Era, I guess they did have at least rubber back then, but leather would have made more sense? But yeah the strap looks ok for today.  LOL  :)

its croc. hornback skin, whatever that is. it does look good, but the whole concept of making a watch from a death ship is eerie.

A fairly large piece of the hull was raised in 1998.  I don't like it, the whole idea of using metal for a wristwatch from a ship on which so many died just seems wrong.  I didn't know anything about Titanic until my older son got interested in it, now I know far more than I ever thought possible.  We did go to see the Titanic exhibit when it was at the Franklin Institute a few years ago and it was fascinating, but to make a piece of jewelry out of it, nope.

On the other hand, Drum Workshop made drums out of 100 year old maple that was sitting on the bottom of one of the Great Lakes.  Since the wood was freight that was knocked off a ship during a storm and it wasn't a great tragedy that is fair game (and some pretty awesome drums from what I understand, albeit $$$$$$$$$).

Anything to make a buck...<sigh>

I thought this one was to the point...
"What's next? Watch parts from auschwitz?"

and then there was...
"Good to see they are Water-resistant..."
