Ken, you know I know opinions are like a-holes...we've all got one. My point is that unless you've actually handled the piece your opinion is not based in fact but rather conjecture. I seriously doubt anyone who has handled a Doxa would say they are cheaply made... it is highly apparent they are NOT cheaply made...

As for looking plain... sure that's a valid opinion based on personal tastes... but looking cheap?? How so...

There has been too much piling on after this broo ha ha but too many that are not basing their opinions in fact. Sure Doxa has had some issues...  I can tell you after this incident I am done with them yet again... unless they pull me back in...

I don't think he meant they looked cheap, but I don't know....and when I READ John V's statement about how cheaply they were made........I decided they were "cheaply made".  Now whether or not JV's statements about chinese case and 10 cent dial are true....is another story!  But every one claimed he was "king", at least for a day!!!

It is okay to form an opinion based on "expert" testimony!

Well KC, he did say they looked cheap so I'll take him at his word as written.

I am curious about John's claims but Doxa seems to be answering the qestions as directly as Doxa can...

Don't drink the orange kool-aid!!

Nice to see Bandido Charlie back, btw.

Yep.........the Bandido is back!!!!!  You are right, he did say they looked cheap....again...opinion...did not say he handled one and the "felt" cheap!  Yadda, yadda, yadda!

I'm thinking Lord J V was paid to make no further comments (based on what I saw on TZ-UK)............I still believe he was stating the truth.  JohnP is on that site too trying to shut people down with threats!

I haven't worked my way through the thread yet but Doxa should stay out of other forums.

To get back on track, itis incomprehensible for WUS to have put the whammy on Tom. Though I didn't see his comments, knowing Tom I would bet they were not overly presumptive or outrageous. This is a perfect example of WUS' heavy handed moderating which I believe starts from the top down. We all know Tom as a fairly sane and reasonable WIS!!

I am sure you know it already, Tom, but you've got friends here!!

I hope that you all don't mind but I'd like to make a few comments relative to Tom's original post.  I too was banned last Tuesday night.  The reason is still unclear.  I have sent two emails to WUS administration asking for an explanation and I have yet to recieve the courtesy of a reply.

At one point on Tuesday night I had posted that I had spoken with John V. a week earlier about purchasing a Doxa 750T Pro as a returning customer.  John was helpful and quoted me a discounted price with the understanding that I would make my purchase within a week or two.  My posts were the focus of several rude responses one of which was from a forum member who accused me of lying about my interest in purchasing a Doxa.  I responded by stating that I didn't care if I was believed and that the poster's arrogance only complimented his ignorance.  Within a few minutes I received a ban notice without any accompanying explanation.  The post within which I was accused of lying was strangely allowed to remain as was.

One might be tempted to conclude that I dislike Doxa watches.  That is simply not true.  I still own two Doxas and I count them among my most treasured watches.  Indeed, I believe that Doxa watches are excellent dive watches deserving of the respect of the horologic community.

My issue is with the manner in which Doxa views its customers and potential customers in relation to questions and comments about customer service and warranty issues.  Heavy handed and unprofessional moderating of important debate has now resulted in many questioning the sincerity of Doxa and its representatives, and I suspect many rethinking their interest in purchasing a Doxa.

I am fortunate to have found this and several other forums which support open civil debate without a thought about economic advantage.

Thank you.
