 I was away in Vegas since Monday with my young fella.... dad, Son bonding thing. No email, no computer, no internet access. Missed the whole Doxa Donnybrook thing and was scanning some posts and found a link to here. Cripes, I never even knew it existed and what do I find but a bunch of familiar old rogues from the other forums.:D Looks pretty cool, hope no one minds a self confessed Doxa fanatic hanging out. Maybe not a good idea to own up to being a Doxa nut anymore but I'll take the chance around you guys :P

As for the Doxa flap. No comments to make. All been said and done to death by better men than me. Don't care anymore either. People have different opinions about everything, watches, cars, houses, beers, football teams, motorbikes (there can only ever be one.... BMW R100RS pre USA emission strangling, so the rest of you are all wrong ;)), that's life. You pays your money and you makes your choice. I love my SUBs, and my Sea-Dweller and my Seikos and my Casios, hell, there are not too many watches I don't like. Guess, I'm in good company then :D

Pete

Welcome Doc! whats a Doxa?:D

Bmw's are okay for mild riding, But since I race AMA and the Wera series, and Deals Gap is in my back yard, my opinion would be that Beemers sucktoon1.gif

Get a Ducati or a Vespa:D

Thanks for the welcome Guys. Nice to be here. Not much of a racer myself. Growing up in Ireland we didn't have much. The Northwest 200 was/is a cracking weekend and of course there was always the Isle of Man TT just across the water. Grew up on a GT 250 Suzuki, then a GT 500 Suzuki, then a 750 / 4 F1 Honda until the big Beemer. Lovely thing to drive. Full fairing and Krauser panniers. Bitch to manipulate when stopped, just too bloody heavy. Sold her when I moved to the States. Miss the old girl from time to time. My mother has an old BSA 175 from 1950 something that my dad and I were going to restore but he just ran out of time. Friend had a Ducati. Jiminy Cricket could that thing move. It would do half an hour in fifteen minutes. Poor sod smashed his femor dropping it in the wet. But the fastest thing I ever sat my arse on was the original Kawasaki 900 / 4. Man could it straightline, but went round a corner like a sofa. Kid brother had a Fireblade for a few months but I never got to ride it other than doing about 70 around the wee roads where he lived. My youngest bro still has a bike. Can't remember what. One of the 500cc pocket rockets. All look the same to me now.

Pete

Good to see you here, Pete. I just joined myself. It's a nice contrast to WUS - and I mean that in the best possible sense, and with great respect to Ernie. Glad to see the book is finally ready. I'll be placing my order later tonight.:)

Doc..........welcome to 3T...we are kind of the boutique of watch forums.subtlelaugh.gif  With no particular brand forums, we get a good cross section and have a lot of fun. We have novice and expert cheap and rediculous.  My own collection(or should I say assortment) runs from Seiko to Rolex.  I even have a couple of quartz wacthes (but let's not make that public).

At any rate, welcome again, and............what does the "flying" stand for?  GA pilot?
