It's very bad business to do stuff like this. People really do not want to be made fools of. Most legit companies will send their products to someone else to unload for them. They have lost all credibility and their ranting and raving about pricing has turned into a big joke.  In short, they suck.:D

I don't know why you should get upset with shopnbc. You know that they are a commodity seller. They are not your local Watch Store. They sell on price and having great deals on items. They don't have any other standard than that. So, it should come as no surprise that six moths or a year later there is a better deal on some items. Their buyers are no doubt ALWAYS working for the next special with all of their vendors.

So, Lior cuts a better deal with Jacques Lemans on this particular watch to offer an even greater savings. Maybe he got them from another dealer who couldn't sell them, or Jacques Lemans just wanted to move them. Who knows. It is the way of the retail world.

Your local Best Buy does it every month on computers, TV sets, CD players, iPods, etc. If you just bought an Apple iPod two months ago for $300, guess what? You can buy a better one now with VIDEO capability for the same price. Oh, and your "old" model can be had for as little as $199 in some places.

So, if you buy from shopnbc and get a new model watch when it is first introduced you can expect to pay more for it than what I will pay. Because I will wait six months or for the shake out and the inevitible price drop. There is a time to buy and a time to wait if you want a bargain.

I thought that watch was $1299:shock:LOL I may pick one up when they hit $599, but, I have seen some really nice collectable watches for $599. :DIt isn't very comforting to know that there is no real value in a watch you just bought because the prices don't really have any meaning. Invicta should be selling cleaning products or diet pills. Was 59.99, slashed to 29.99, down to 19.99 and now today's special, 3 for 9.99 and 12 free straps are included.:D

You're right. They are just like all of the other liquidators. The trouble I see with Invicta is that they are retailing and liquidating at the same time.LOL Sometimes on the same watch on a day to day basis. One day the watch is retail the next it is discounted and after that, retailed again.:D A novice will get ripped. Was is the SAII selling for more than the COSC Speedy?:D:D:D

In Invicta's case Randy, I KNOW you aren't buying them based on value. At least I hope not. In the case of some of the other brands on shopnbc, well that should define it right there. If your favorite ticker shows up on shopnbc, expect a price merry-go-round. That's what they do. You just have to get on the right pony at the right time to get the best price. :D:D:D

I am certainly not blaming you for being upset. I wouldn't like it either if the watch I bought dropped two hundred bucks.

But, the shopping network TV business is pretty competitive. And while shopnbc may have these watches sitting in stock, there is no reason not to believe that there isn't an order for more coming. Maybe even with price protection on shopnbc's current stock (it does happen).

Buying from shopnbc is like buying from a snake. Sooner or later its gonna bite you. Its your choice. If a hot deal springs up on shopnbc and you take advantage of it, there is no guarantee that it won't be sold at a lower price later. You have to realize that it is shopnbc's nature.

As for the Industry, well, the "Industry" is selling to shopnbc or they wouldn't be on the air with watches. So who's fault is it, ultimately?

Well...................I agree with everybody.  With SlopNBC, we know the prices are going down.............if the item remains in stock.

Here is my problem with SlopNBC that other legitimate dealers (such as the Best Buy you mentioned) DO NOT DO...SlopNBC and their hosts knowingly lie about the status of their inventory....Buy it right now ......it's selling out fast...........only 20 remaining.......and all the time (in most cases), knowing that they have more inventory than they can get rid off.

Unfortunately, every once in awhile when the make the above statements, they are actually telling the truth (which I am sure thaey are ashamed of - nevertheless, it does happen) and something really does sell out.............consequently, if we steadfastly adhere to the "price will always go down" theory, we sometimes miss out on something we wanted.

It is not the lowering of the price after intro that really bothers us...it is the constant ethical challenge!

I am in a business that a lot happens that upset us dealers we buy a pipe brand say 3 months befor Xmas and then the damn  dist cuts the price in Dec to buy 1 get one free to dealers so now do I buy MORE of course so I can cut my prices and average out my over all cost so I can compete its not personal JUST BUSINESS ..

Happens all the time in almost every business ! IMHO its part of doing business ..I see nuthing wrong with it BUT I have been in one kind a business or another most a my life and fully understand all ends of it >>> in the long run imho price cuts help consumers   ! but it do hurt if you bought in at a hi price then see it cheaper a few weeks or even a yr later .... But dist dealers or no one can control the market completely ever with any product ..BUT if you LIKE what you bought and enjoy it it should not hurt as much ....this is just imho and iam not trying to defend slop nbc at all !!! I just think its Business..Pure and simple...

And of course Lior and JL are in Business together !!! good loard he is moving units they love the man ... So yes he will have a lot to say in there business I can have a say in a few of my dist and get what I want from the ones I move a lot a product for // so ya were in business together.. its business were in it to make money ....I see nuthing wrong with JL and Lior being in a close business relationship.. its smart if ya ask me ...WE as buyers or as consumers have to be smarter in when and HOW we buy it will if enough do it dictate what they do ... all this is IMHO not to ruffle feathers :)

ONE MORE TIME....it is not the ordinary course of business that this thread is addressing.. ...........It is not the lowering of the price after intro that really bothers us.............it is the constant lying about the value and urgency to buy.

It is the constant ethical challenge!

I completely agree that is a  very unethical way of doing business and bothers ME and I see all of US a lot ....and slop seems to be getting worse not better .. and that is NO way to run a business ,,,I know if I  Ran mine that way we would be outa business in short order .. I think it will catch up to them sooner or later and most likely sooner .. companys that do business like that do not last ... that is a fact a life ... this will come back and bitem in the #$%^&*( IMHO
