Just thought I'd bring this subject up. How many of you have encountered the problem of having an unclean movement on a brand new timepiece? You receive it, unwrap it, marvel at its beauty, and then ...face4.gif cringe as you look at the movement through the viewback and notice some specks of debris resting on it. Totally unpleasant experience. Mention, too, the "offenders". Who's the worst? |

I've seen it on a few and a good jeweler will clean and adjust for around $40....it's not worth sending it back sometimes:) I would have to say Invicta has been my biggest offender over the years but you get what you pay for with any watch:D I think I would be more upset if I paid in a higher price range and seen dust or particals under the crystal front or rear:( When taking pics with a macro lens is when most items appear for me although I did get a Invicta that had a screw visible to the eye just sitting near the edge of the exhibition back once:D |

What bugs me is the lack of QC that doesn't capture the really big "debris". Case and point: when I got my Aristo with the Harley micro-rotor movement, I took this shot and couldn't believe my eyes: fdo you notice the large piece of metal shaving underneath the center wheel right above the axle of the micro rotor? :X Cheers Matt  |
