Hi all,

your help would be appreciated. I am looking for a Submariner-style watch, automatic preferred, for around 200USD/150EUR.
What would be your suggestions?

Without Hesitation, the Orient Sub from Marc at Island Watch ($119.00usd):

http://www.longislandwatch.com/Orient/Orient_Watches-1.htm

Orient, if you are not familiar, is a brand owned primarily by Seiko, with a great reputation for quality..................proprietary 21j auto movement.!

I came across this one which is strangely fascinating:

The search goes on, if you got new ideas, feel free to post them.

I like the HK Sandoz sub I bought for customization, ETA 2836 movement and a decent price <$200.  The Singapore models are of nicer quality and a bit more expensive.  I have the Invicta 8926 too, runs well with Miyota movement and except for the huge INVICTA engraved on the side it is a nice watch.  That was a steal with the ShopNBC $50 coupon, long since expired.

I can say that Orient makes a great watch but I don't have that particular model.  Not that I haven't thought of buying one though :D

Cheers,
Griff

Thank you all for the kind replies! (again!hand6.gif)

yeah, it is kind of obvious that the 'bay watch is an hommage to say the least, but it is somehow interesting. The Sandoz Singapore as well as the the Orient is growing on me, too. Maybe if I win the next photo of the week contest ;)

And your German is near perfect, Oscar!;)

While Born2Watch is a very reputable ebay dealer out of Florida, you cannot beat Marc and Island Watch for service and price...email him and ask for the 3T Member discount!  That is the Orient Sub that I mentioned in my initial post...Orient makes one hell of a watch!!! hand6.gif

A very generous offer, but the Orient in black is sold out :(
I want to win that coupon fair and square, maybe I'll do it when the Angler arrives!

If you don't mind used watches, I recently saw 3 Steinharts sell around $250 on the WUS sales forum.

I'm sure there will be more deals available sometime.
