I recently sold off a bunch of watches to pay some bills on our house reno, and also buy a watch that has been on my "want" list for quite some time... the Ball Alligator.  When I transferred the balance of the proceeds from my sell-off to our account, I held back $400 to play with snoopy1.gif

So now the question is what to buy with $400.  Some of the obvious candidates are the Sumo 6R15, or the Orsa Sea Angler if I can find one.  Also considered a SKX007 modded with Plongeur hands for $200 and pocket the change or grab something else economical.  I'm really open to suggestions if I'm missing something exciting.

I like big and heavy Automatics, no Ti, bracelets preferred.

Thanks all!

Well,  you picked the two I was just thinking of.  There are a couple of nice Zeno divers (Airplane and Army) available for around $400-$500.  Riedenschild also has a couple of nice divers (Dark Sea and Dark Sea Pro) in $400 or less range.   Marc at Island Watch carries both Zeno and Riedenschild at great prices...  hand6.gif

Yeppers those are all good. Also for that range you could pickup a Tissot Seastar 1000 Auto. I love mine. hearteyes.gif :D

I know you listed Divers, but you didn't say that is all you are looking at...

I know I am really enjoying my new Orient...

Nice and large auto and it does have some weight to it.

You should buy my Steinhart GMT Ocean 1!

Just kidding, I'd get the Sumo.

Well, I was forced to make a fast decision... and I bought the Orange Orsa that popped up on TZ.  I was about 5 minutes away from pulling the trigger on a Orsa Lume dial, when I got Gregger's heads-up.  Thanks!!!  Can't believe the Orangina  lasted over an hour on TZ before I saw it.

Now I can't wait to get it, and I have to find a nice bracelet for it.  22mm right?

Nice to join the family of Orsa owners who hang out here.

Mark...congratulations on a great snag.  As to bracelets...the best most of us have found is the Watchadoo (22mm - yes) that is sand/bead blasted to match the case.  It is $70.  The bright and brush finishes are available for $50 if you can get it blasted for less.  They are "biddable" on ebay so you stand a chance of picking one up for less.

Here is a pic (photog unknown) of an Orangina on a blasted Watchadoo!

Ooh, that is nice on the watchadoo.  I've had several 'doos on various watches, and it is odd that I don't curently have one in my rotation.  Thanks for the heads up on the blasted finish... I was on autopilot and looking for a brushed finish.

Thanks everyone!  I'm very excited about this watch.  I have the Orangina and a Ball Alligator en route to me. It looks to be an exciting race to my doorstep!

If the orangina doesn't strike me, I'll be sure to post it here first.  I know some of you are looking for one.  I've also fallen for the lue dial, and may pick one of those up too.
