This months issue of IW mag has an editorial on the cut throat watch industry and the author made particular mention of Steinhart being force to change it's name....the pressure came from Steinhausen........the author had nary a kind word about the latter company...but sang the praises of Steinhart and it's product.

I know there was discussion on this, but it appeared that people thought they may have been one and the same....at least that's what i got out of the previous post:D

I'm not judging anybody's product, but IW isn't exactly impartial. Steinhart advertises in there monthly; like me; so you won't see them say a bad word. Not a good idea bad mouthing your customers hand6.gif

See HR Watches Magazine as well; Steinhart had a lot of "glowing" editorial coverage in hr watches once they started heavily advertising in there , but than they replaced the chief editor. Doxa spent the advertising $$ in a subsequent edition of the magazine and got their editorial coverage. Guess it's how things are being done in magazines, weather watches or automobiles etc.

Cheers

Matt

I don't remember ever reading a bad review on any watch in any watch mag whether they advertise in the mag or not....with the exception of a comaprison of watches in the same category where they are graded and the reviewer may say one brand in the face off has a higher mark than another or one's bracelet is better etc....so I don't know what this thread is leading to?....one of the members mentioned in the earlier thread that they believed it was Steinhausen because of the closeness of name and logo...I guess the only 2 who really know are Steinhart and the other brand...and neither of them are saying a word:D:D
