Yea that is a heck of a deal on the Chronos. :) I went after another but have a chrono page up too. Just not sure. I do need to start chilling out some. :D

August or September I need to try to get back to a budget. I have nailed many of the watches and movement types I was after before the prices start shooting up.

Gotta add that without the heads up from TT via Oscar I would have missed the watch I was lucky to catch. Norm price $1495 and on another site I have seen it $1095 and I got it at SAH for $799 with a winder too. Heck yea this is one happy Dawg right now. :) ;)

There dose not seem to be a link. The link that comes up in source code just goes to the privacy policy page for SAH and the page dose not let me have a copy and paste option so I guess they have it locked down well so all that isn't done?

Pics didn't come through but this is very interesting from TT and Sammy Friedman of Gevril in regards to higher standards for "Swiss Made"!

Greetings fellow watch enthusiasts!

We've just returned from meetings on the East coast. It was a beautiful New
York day. The tree was green. The bird was singing. And exciting watch
developments were in the air from both Gevril and Nicolet.

Swiss Price Increases

In my meeting with Sammy Friedmann of Gevril, I learned that the days of
getting a Swiss mechanical movement in the three or four-hundred dollar
range are rapidly coming to a close. This may be the ideal time to stock up,
especially for special occasions later in the year.

Tightened "Swiss Made" Standards

During our visit, Sammy also shared his knowledge of the proposed pending
"80-20" rule. This is a proposition to limit the "Swiss Made" designation to
watches with 80% of production costs in Switzerland for mechanical watches
and 60% for electronic production. The current percentage is 50.1% for both.

On June 28th, the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry (FH) voted in favor
of pushing the Swiss government to accept these new requirements. This
proposal comes in response to criticism that the Swiss-made label is being
used too loosely, and if passed, it will affect the future labeling of some
brands.
and Jean Marcel will pass with flying colors!hand6.gif
Not only is Jean  Marcel typically the least expensive option to owning a
pure Swiss production, but it's definitely going to survive the pending
"80-20" ruling intact. For all of you who have aspired to own such a
timepiece, this is  an event not to be missed. In particular, I recommend
the Semper Automatic Strap Watch.
