I ordered a watch from the German Steinhart site on Thursday night July 26. Due to the time difference it was July 27th, Friday in Germany. I received an email from Gunther Stienhart himself on July 28th, Saturday saying my watch was paid in full, and will be shipped out the middle of next week FED EX, a tracking number will be provided when shipped. On Thursday August the 2nd and again on Monday August the 6th, I sent emails asking on the status of my order, in both cases I received no response. My question really is, how long do I wait before I contact Paypal and try to get my money back?

Chick... I feel your pain and can only say "BLECH!" Send them an email with an specified time for response. If you get nothing in return... get your money.

What a bummer!!

Good advise there and as a side note due to the time involed already I would contact paypal noon your time Wednesday the 8th and ask what should be done just to get the ball rolling if you do not here back from Steinhart.

I have heard Paypal is good about such things. I have a paypal account with their CC and another personal CC and use my other for buys over $500. That card customer service so far has been great with any issues that arrises with like problems. So far I've have not had to deal with the Paypal CC people.

If you already sent more than 3 emails and the seller still doesn't answer it's time to raise a PAYPAL dispute. Then wait for a couple of days if the seller still doesn't respond or communicate with you then it's the time to escalate the dispute to PAYPAL for claim.

Goodluck!!!

Just heard back from Mr. Steinhart. I guess the whole place was out on "holiday". He said he will check on my order and get back to me tomorrow.
