What movement is in these MarcelloC's?

I do have to say that I am very impressed with both pieces, and yes the spokes on the balance of the second one do trumpet out.

Wow! Darn near identical in every aspect!

Except for the balance wheel, I don't see much difference?

Do you want to hear something funny the SW200 times out with less standard deviation when you are switching the position of the movement than the 2824-2.  It is just one sample but it is performing my equipment does not lie.

I am interested in finding out what it will do in a month.

I missed the announcement of what movement was going to be used. I had heard a few ask for that movement. Guess I need to read over there a little bit more.

If all of that mass is being retained by the 2 screws on the spacer, than that design is not that good.  In fact I would say that it is a very very weak.  The screws will vibrate loose over time or worse.  That would never hold up to high production quality control, from what I see.

The MarcelloC is solid in every way.

The movement done right comes at an extreme premium, and it will serve to do the same thing as ETA limiting the supply.  The day of getting automatic movements anywhere near the prices that they have in the past will be long forgotten.  The day of being able to easily make a profit off of throwing watches together is going to be gone, and the cream will rise to the top.  Have to cull out with the legislation that is going to go into affect and ETA, times they are a changing.  The Internets affect and other factors is something that the industry would react to.

You want my advice if you want a watch that has a Sel. movement that looks and functions like this one, BUY IT NOW.  As ETA continues to limit the number of movements and the increase of production of base movements from Sel. movements will mirror the Prices of the industry.  Remember you are dealing with people that have all done business together for years and share the same value system and think alike.  You are dealing with a culture that is tight and this is like brothers or sisters fighting in the end more profits can be achieved by all of the companies if they work together.  ETA needs Sel. to make movements in high numbers or they will be in contempt of court for anticompetitive business practices when they make the next moves that they are going to make.
