Of members of your collection?????????? I have to ask!!!!!!! As WIS (or watch Lunatics I refer) Do you feel the need to hang on, or feel your collection will be incomplete, or depressed??????

Am I absolutely MADDDDDDDD??????

I ask this as I have recently (or in transit) of purchasing new Pieces, and well, Just can't seem to let go, if you understand, and I think many do.............

So anyway, what I geuss I am Saying is, Gotta let go of a few to Support the habit, not the grails, not too expensive, but a few.............

(it''s just a watch, it's just a watch, it's just watch, it's just a............)

I am one of those that some would call a "hoarder" :D

I have only sold/traded a few, the rest I am loathe to sell. Could be my obsessive-compulsive personality, the one that led me to collect 500+ Zippo lighters...
Anyway, every time I see a grail and am tempted to buy (Seiko Marine Master, Orient Star 300m, Omega Speedmaster etc.) I realize that I would have to sell some in order to afford it. That stops the buying impulse. I just have to work more jobs to get the grails

Cheers,
Griff

If I find that I stop reachng for a particular watch, or it just doesn't "speak" to me anymore, I sell it to open up funds for new purchases. Sometimes I regret it (Doxa T-Graph Sharkie), but the majority of the time, I never look back, just forward.

I've bought over 60 watches in the past 15 months.  If I kept them all I'd be divorced and my wife would get half of them.   By keeping the collection smaller, about 10-12 pieces, I get to stay married and they are all mineBouncy.gif

At first I never even thought about "flipping" a watch ....I thought it strange because I took my time and carefully decided on a purchase of hundreds of dollars ......then I realized I could buy more if I sold the ones I didnt wear often ...and that way I would get to own and experience more watches ....in the last 2 years, at least 150 watches went thru my hands and I only have 50 in my collection .......

It doesn't bother me a bit to flip one. Everything is for sale if the price is right. Even watches I wear a lot. I only have one watch, the Submariner my Grandfather gave me that I will never part with. It isn't even in running condition right now but I'll keep it for life. All others available if the price is right.

never show the wife your new 5 foot gun safe because she'll ask what all those boxes are inside of it instead of guns and then the conversation really goes down hill quickly if you answer with any sign of weakness.

keep'em forever, or only trade up or down, and never ever question your sanity or lack of. it will keep them all guessing.

happy watching.

Debate the sale of each and every one.  Do not think about the purchase much, I just buy what I like.

Have a good one

" AFTER 20 YEARS, HE STILL GRIEVES..."

Yes, I feel guilty and disloyal over some I've sold. Others, well, why would someone else want them?
