Wow,their prices have come down. Must have happened in the last week or two. I guess that huge price jump that occurred late last year may have backfired on them. It pushed their prices up to the point that the watches were no longer the great bargains that was one of their major selling points. The higher prices put them in competition with watches from better known brands. Hmmm, that Barcelona Valjoux 7751 is looking pretty good again! :D I actually have 6 d.freemonts-- my latest, a terra cotta Mt. Palomar, may be the best-- but I'm glad I got it used for about half the original price, rather than paying the full price before the drop (I think the price was originally $690, went up to $890, and now dropped back down to $750). Well, guess what?! Just a couple of months ago, all their prices were up $300 from what they were just six months ago. I got my "Mt. Palomar" in slate (which I love, BTW) in March for $890, but just recently it was the whopping 1,290 Yankee dollars! I have two - the other one is the Miami chrono model circa 1999 - and love them both, but when I see a price jump like that, I'll look at other watches. When I see things change like that with small companies I start to worry is everyone alright. David and Barbara are dfreemont, the story always plays out in the end. I do believe that I will look into the Barselona in 18K. The new case he is using I like much more than the older one. Plus it is a deal consider the cost of a Padek or Audemar that I always tend to feel on my wrist, and that bothers me. A watch is a tool no matter the price and should not change the behavior of the wearer.

They state the thickness of the case as 12mm for the SS-- that's the thickness you would expect from a watch with a slim El Primero or ETA 2894 movement, not one with a chunky Valjoux and a sapphire back (which always adds to the thickness)-- I wonder how they do it?

They just pack it tight. I have a JM that is the same way. The rotor looks like it is almost kissing the display back and the hands are about the same on the front. Makes for a good fit on the wrist, but you better know what you are doing before you start designing one of those. This is not Davids first shooting match so I would believe it.
