Well I know Randy put up the OGII for $1575 which cracked me up. And then lo and behold, its an OTV. So I guess I'll be checking out the OGII silver for $28. Kinda funny how that worked out to be on 4 vps, no shipping and 15% off just after seeing some eBay clown list one in the stratosphere... musta put the damper on their auction!!

I'm not ashamed to say I like the look of the watch and sometimes they hit a home run. Anybody got one and wish to comment??

And of course I know who I am dealing with and the crapshoot that really is...

cool10.gif I think it will make a great everyday watch Mark. It's big, but has some nice curved lugs and should fit you nice. Miyota movement, so should be trouble free.yourock.gif

Cool!!

I am very curious about the Scuba v2 which Randy is gonna get. Should be a bit different with the MOP and different movement. It really is a doozy!!

Really a rock solid watch IMHO. The only fault I find with it is I would have liked a little taper at the clasp. Maybe 24mm or 22mm.

That's funny because one of the things I find most appealing the the uniform width of the bracelet and its girth... yeah, I said GIRTH. I swear you could beat a man to death with the Scuba!! Not that I would or anything.

Same size. For some reason I thought the new one was bigger too but Tony set me straight and I took a look at mine. Here are my thoughts on it if interested:

Uh-oh...

I jumped on the bandwagon too, gotta stop watching late night watch shows. This is my 2nd Invicta.

I saw this last week, I just had to have it for a wedding coming up:

I got it from Overstock for $98 and it came yesterday. I only had a chance to wind it up but so far I really like it. Especially the way the lugs attach into the case, and the strap looks great. I know it is Chinese but it just grabbed me, I think it will look great with a suit.

Wrist shots to follow :)

Cheers,
Griff

Yes, they can Mongo!

My last Miyota Invicta (from Overstock) arrived DOA. Wouldn't run. Nadda. Nice watch, but dead. They sent me a replacement (which I didn't want) and it has been fine.

I am not talking about particular watches.....I am speaking of the company, and it's reputation in the industry  (and with the SFL better Business Bureau)...

Yes...there are some particular models that they had made that are excellent, some I have, some I don't (I have some of their POS models, too)...but they are from the "early years" before Eyal got to the proverbial "fork-in-the-road" and chose the wrong path!  But even with the good models, if they developed a problem, Invicta provided vitually no customer service to resolve that problem and/or honor the warranty.

Hey the Invicta's I see (pics) in this post from Randy, Mark, Tony's and Griff look great.  The Ocean Ghost and the Scuba great lookers, I almost purchased both of them several times.  My wife still has two Invictas.

Customer service, here I will give my take on how they might look, when you are talking to them

I had a Subaqua Nomo II I sent in for service along with my wifes baby lupah, they had both of them for 72 days.  Hey I suggested to them why don't you just buy them from me.  I could go on how many I have owned and my many conversations on the phone I had with the customer Reps, but I think you guys get the pic.

If you ever send your Invicta to the Customer Service Dept, or you want something from them (even it's just a screw, spring bar or bolt) you are paying for it, and that might take a month if your lucky.

Yesterday I e-mailed BERG and I tell him I needed a spring bar for my Orsa band.  He PM me states Teddy I will send you "free" lug screws.  I told BERG hey I will take the lug screws but I need a spring bar, I bent mine, he shoots back a kite at me and states "TEDDY I'M SORRY I WILL JUST SEND YOU A WHOLE NEW STRAP", man I was touched by that gestured, maybe I'm getting sensitive as I age.  I gotta go, need to get a another cup of coffee this morning.

Invicta Dragon Lupah...beautiful plain black strap with cream dial....this watch plays like it came of a slow boat from Hong Kong, that got tied up in customs due to being shipped with suspicious dog food from Singapore. snoopy1.gif

Your Costco price is 114.99 and not the $399...that slopNBC wants....

I had a website called "invictamized.com" I kept active for a year or so. I killed it midsummer ... guess I don't need to comment

goofy

Doesn't stop me from buying them but I go into a purchase knowing it's either disposable or knowing I can use after market parts on it.
I am appalled that people actually send watches back to the manufacturer at all! I equate that with sending my Toyota back to japan for a tune up!

Doesn't stop me from buying them but I go into a purchase knowing it's either disposable or knowing I can use after market parts on it.
I am appalled that people actually send watches back to the manufacturer at all! I equate that with sending my Toyota back to japan for a tune up!

Ya I dont think I would do that again, I learned from that one.  I have seen great reviews on Berg, Enzo and Mitch from Ocean7 on customer care.

I bought 3 Invictas in the past few months and all are doing very well.

However I buy them from Precision Time (a mall AD) so I can check them out first and make sure they are working examples.

Should I have a problem then PT will deal with Invicta.

All I do (knock on wood) is return the watch to the store.

I will never buy an Invicta unless I can see the watch I am buying up close an personal.

PS-the PT prices are usually as good , or better, than SNBC albeit without Value Pays.

The below is just my opinion ONLY.  If you disagree, please don't take it personal because it's a general comment.

I thought this board is for the "discriminating" watch collector.  The reason why I'm going into watch collecting is not to collect common names you can buy at the local Sam's or Costcos but from unique, uncommon destinations like Marc's IW or Berg's Orsa.  I've been wearing Seikos (one at a time, not a collection) for the longest time and never really realized the wider array of choices out there until recently.  In short, I can't see myself buying an Invicta just because it's cheap.  And I can't see myself buying a Rolex because it's expensive.  In fact, I can't see myself buying another Seiko (unless of course it's the 600M Marinemaster).  All are widely available.  It's all about being proud of wearing your watch, no matter what the price -- a watch that reflects who you are as an individual -- and that to me is wearing a UNIQUE watch.  People see you wear a Seiko, Invicta, and Rolex and they make a judgement about you.  From now on, I'll keep them guessing!

While I do not take offense to what you say (nor do I take it personally), I do find it necessary to respond for, if no other reason, clarification.  This forum is for all watch enthusiasts...watch "discrimination" is up to the buyer.  I happen to find both quality and style in the Seiko's and Orient's  I own.  I also own Rolex, Cartier, Breiltling, Hamilton, ORSA, Stowa, Enzo, Trias, ZENO, etc....along with a few "choice" early Invicta watches.

In agreement, I don't discriminate by price...I discriminate by what I like.  Many hear like the Freak...I do not...and, there is nothing wrong with shopping at Sam's or Costco.  They also carry a variety of  watches including, but not limited to, Breitling, Rolex, Cartier, Movado, Zenith, Chase-Durer, Victorinox, TAG, Cole, et al, for the discriminating collector.

There are some who might say that buying from "boutiques" off the Internet is not very discriminating...I am not one of those.  But choice is choice...and it is very personal...so...bottom line, this forum is for any watch enthusiast who enjoys and wishes to participate.

Discriminating tastes can be like philosophy ...there is no right or wrong ..... I own everything from Swiss high-grade ( Rolex Omega Longines ) to an Orient star to German Limes and Stowa ...but I also own Seiko's and Russians and Trias's ....I wont buy an Invicta but thats just me and I really like the Scoobies .......I wouldnt blame a guy for buyin one and I agree this forum needs all kinds ....diff strokes for diff folks , eh ?????

Obviously, what you do with your own money is your own business.  If owning an Invicta is your thing, then who am I to criticize?  I hope you all didn't see my post as a criticism but an opinion from a different perspective.  To me, seeing that there are so many choices out there, an Invicta that anyone can pretty much get anywhere is down on my list.

Hey Thomas I did not get my feelings hurt over your comments and I started out watching slopnbc hehe...and ya I use to watch Jimmy Skelfluff...the master of bull..hehe.   Man I must of had about 45 of those Invicta's, my wife still has 2 of them.   Hey I would buy them and before 30 days were up I would send it back.  You have guys on this forum that know there stuff front-wards and backwards, about watches and they dig Invicta's, and I respect that. I have to agree with Ken and CJ, they stated It best,  Just keep bringing it Thomas, hell I had one of my own post deleted out, I just might have drank to many beers that day.

Teddyhanna, LOL! ThumbsUp02.gif

I'll "keep bringing it" to make this board (ahem) interesting, if you drink more beers before you start posting again.  Man, to have your post deleted, you must have said something bad about someone's watch AND his or her mother -- a deadly combo! mistake.gif
