Whaddya think?

My initial take: Neat design, good size, likely killer lume, be good for rough and tumble weekend duty...but really quite pricey and not sure how I feel about a "resin" (read: plastic) shroud. Afraid it would lend a cheap feel to it.

Also like the black day/date wheels on this particular one sans any sort of white paint border around the dial window. Subtle touch, but I like that detail.

Might be best to wait on this and see how they turn up on the sales forums and other e-tailers.

The map-meter watches also have a resin shroud. Nothing to be concerned about I'd say.

Cool looking rugged design. What is the diameter of the case? Anyone have a link to these?

Wow! Nice looking line. Is the lume up to monster standards? I'm not concerned about the resin, as I only desk-dive anyhow.

Any idea about price points?

Thanks for the info amangu. There are some very cool looking models. I just found a Japan site selling them for $465.00....Ouch! I hope that is an inflated retail price. I thought they might be priced more in line with the Monsters. I don't know if this is going to be a Japan only model? When the new Land Monster first came out they were were going for the retail price of $450.00. Now you can pick one up for $239.00. I'll wait and see if these new Seiko 5s follow the same price pattern. They look like they would make a fun weekend watch.

I had a link there, but it was automagically replaced with that image instead...maybe that's a board no-no to link to a site like that.

Though that flashlight link I posted in another thread was ok?

Ahhhhhh....gotcha....wink, wink, nudge, nudge. Understood.

Marc- As to the plastic shroud: I'm sure it's plenty sturdy, I meant I'm just not personally in love with the idea of the feel of plastic on my wrist. (Maybe.)

Can we presume then that you will be carrying these at some point?
