Am i being too picky on this, or is the GMT hand on this watch off, or misaligned by maybe 10-20 minutes? The way i see it, on the hour, the GMT should point directly in the middle of the bezel hour. Any opinions much appreciated! ![]() |

Can the GMT hand be adjusted by the crown to the proper position? |

Nope, the crown is used to adjust the placement of the GMT hand, so you can advance it hour by hour, but you can't adjust the placement of the GMT hand in relation to where the reg. hour hand is. Do you think it looks a little misaligned? |

The 2893 in my Limes GMT adjusts by the 1/2 hour and the position of your GMT hand looks like mine in the 1/2 hr. position. |

This one is (Per Ocean7 owner) an elabore class 2893 movement. Don't know if thats the same one you have or not, but the GMT hand on this watch moves smoothly around the dial when i adjust the regular time with the crown, not in 1/2 hour increments. Or in other words, if you pull the crown out all the way to adjust the time, and turn it to advance the time, the GMT hand moves the whole time, it doesn't jump at all. |

Cool, thanks. Yeah, thats pretty much what i've concluded. I've had a long, annoying history with this specific watch, but at the end of the day, this one (Which is a warranty replacement) keep now excellent time, runs within +/- 5 seconds a day, so overall I'm happy with it, even if the GMT is a little off. I've been just turnign the bezel 2 clicks to the left to make it read a little better! :D |

With the crown in the first position ( the one for adjusting the date) turning the crown forward advances the date and turning it backwards should advance the GMT hand forward by the 1/2 hour for setting another time zone. |

Sorry, turning it forward advances the GMT hand. Backward advances the date. |

I have the same issue on my Steinhart GMT - it is apparently a condition that arises from a less than perfect installation of the GMT hand, and can be adjusted by a professional (I believe it was addressed on the old Debaufre website)... :? |

I'd have to say the GMT hand is off. I've owned two Rolex GMT's, a Marcello C GMT, a Zeno GMT and a Quartz Graf Zepplin. All the GMT hands have been spot on. My Zeno GMT aligns right on the button (so-to-speak). See pic with the hands at midnight. Yours should look like this or closer than what your pic shows. At least that is my take. YES...the GMT hand is off and should be corrected by the manufacturer (or, in this case, the marketer). |

Thanks for the replies, guys... Paxman- Thats a great comparison shot!, and for me it basically shows the issue... $400 watch compared to $4000 watch. Your Rollie is awesome. Thanks to everyone else who posted, too. Pictures speak a thousand words, eh? ;) I don't know if i'm expecting too much from O7, but i've basically 'given up' on them, as far as service goes. This watch is a replacement for the first one I got from them (which I also had to ship back to Mitch 3 TIMES TOTAL), which had the same issue, just worse. You'd think if someone returned a watch because the GMT hand was off (among other things) you'd check to make sure the replacement watch had the hands set up straight!! Other than the GMT hand, the rest of the watch is fine now, i guess, so i'll stop complaining about it. Ofcourse, i tried to discuss this in an objective manner over on the Ocean7 WUS forum, but my posts were magically ERASED!!!... so strange how that happens over there... |

It's not too much to ask that the hands align, all it takes is a skilled assembly facility. You also don't have to spend $4000.00 to get it. ![]() Notice how nice the hands align, the cyclops too. If you like the watch it is probably worth sending it to someone competent enough to set the hands right so that you can finally enjoy wearing it! |

That's a bummer. My O7 GMT is spot on, but it did come originally with a bum bezel pearl so I had the bezel insert replaced. I bet Duarte (NorthEast Watch Works) can straighten out that GMT hand for you. Good luck! Griff |
