I was just wondering if they are the same company...was steinhart now is debaufre. why are there 2 web sites and if you look at the watches they are similar but not the sameface4.gif http://www.steinhartwatches.de http://www.debaufre.com Any one know? As I understand it, Steinhart in the US were threatened with legal action by another watch company with, what they seemed to think, was a similar name. They then changed their name to Debaufre. This legal action musn't have applied worldwide so I'm guessing Steinhart in Germany just kept the name. If they're not the same company then they are pretty closely linked since I have heard of Debaufre arranging to have their watches shipped direct from Germany to UK customers - I'm assuming that this is done in association with Steinhart. Their stock is pretty much the same with a few differences (Steinhart do a few Special Editions etc. but don't seem to stock the Airforce models).

They r exactly the same company. Since they got copyright woes with the name Steinhart in the US they registered another company Debaufre to handle US sales while steinhart handles the EU/internaiotnal sales and VAT etc2. smile8.gifsmile8.gif Chris
