The SW200 is a swiss clone of the ETA2824, all the parts r interchangable, bascially its the same movement, so realiability, accuracy wise its the same. However if u want to be technical, if there is a choice i probly go with the 2824. cool10.gifcool10.gif chris ps. great choice, the triton is a very cool watch. personally I would choose the one that appeals to YOU the most, I know some folk would not buy a watch because of a name, or a dial layout , as it just might not appeal to our personal taste. As to reliability??? can't answer that as I don't own either of the watches. Good luck.

I agree with Shane. Pick the one that YOU like the most. Since movements are so similar, choose the dial layout that you like best in appearance.

Gnomon watches carries the Steinhart here on 3Thand6.gif....also as far as the movements go....the eta is the original and the sw200 is the copy, wouldn't you rather own an original if available at the same price?:D....the eta uses the "nivarox" balance wheel and mainspring assembly which they own under the Swatch Group and is considered the best .....Selitta owns nothing but the right to copy the eta and use who knows what balance wheel/mainspringwatch2.gifSo imho the Steinhart would be my choice based on what powers the watch yourock.gif

yea Tamir, tbh, i dont understand how they work. Debaufer n Steinhart both same models that r cheaper than the other. face4.gif well i guess its up to u then, 95$ more get u the 2824 n better strap, i think its worth it. Although one can get a very good custom strap for around that money. I bought my steinhart pilot from Gnomonwatches, anders is a great with deals. ![]() chris Last edited on Fri Jan 11th, 2008 02:37 pm by Dookie |

tamir357 wrote: your'e only making it difficult for yourself ;) if this is your 1st experience with an automatic and also a Swiss movement my personal reccomendation would be go with the proven movement that has been around since the 70's...etahand6.gif if money is what drives your purchase you can find many "Swiss Made" manufacturered watches with great reps and eta based for under $400. on many of the sales forums as Tony advised you in your quartz/tritium tube thread where you were looking to spend under $500.:) you have been given some great advice here and like any watch purchase it should be based on what you like and what you are willing to spend at that time....it's what makes us all WIS regardless of what level you are at watch2.gif the problem is, that the steinhart is 95$ more...
