Tom, I'd be glad to share some info. This is the Steinhart NAV-B in vintage steel which is really a bead blasted, gun metal gray type of color. There is a slight to medium gade matt texture to it. It's Swiss-made and on-board is an ETA2824-2 auto; hacks and winds sweetly. Lume is provided by Superluminova C3. William is right: you can see the lume from the moon! At night, you can see the very long second hand sweep the dial and you get an eerie feeling because there's so much lume even on just the second hand. Lume lasts up to about 4am/5am after a full day's trip on the wrist.  I sleep with a tiny light at a distance and get to enjoy this toy's lume a lot. The dial is technically mocha brown but I see it as a tobacco brown more than mocha.

This is not a screw-down crown but a simple push-in, Pilot type, much like the IWC's Big Pilot. Crystal is super clear and sharp sapphire with AR on the inside only. Very easy to photograph despite a slight bulge on the crystal. You won't need a polarizer to shoot this baby's face. Lug width is 22mm and other dimensions are 47mm case diameter with about 56.5mm or almost 57mm lug-to-lug distance. It's a decent 14.2mm or 14.3mm thick as measured on my made in China caliper. I haven't really timed the power reserve but I think it can tick for 40 to 42 hours if left undisturbed.

Strap is not the original very supple and very soft Steinhart. I replaced it with a 5mm thick SteveO in mahogany/tobacco brown. Thick, fat nylon stitches (my request was not linen but nylon) are in gray to pick up the gun metal gray hue of the case.

I bought this watch to complement my Debaufre' NavB which has a black dial and is in polished and brushed steel. Like many of you, I am OC when it comes to certain things and I usually buy in bunchescrap.gif. Another reason I bought this is because I really love pilot watches and the IWC flagship Big Pilot is too far up there..........and lately, has not been getting good reviews. This Steinhart seemed to be a good alternative particularly with it's uncommon finish and color.

I'd recommend this for a collection anyday but just note if your left cuff isn't adjusted to take a watch this "wide", you'll have some challenges on the laptop and on the steering wheel. Otherwise, if you're always in short sleeves, this has lots of ownership value and testosterone.Thumbsup3.gif. Feels very good and very sleek on the wrist.

Hope this helps, amigo. (Oh, it's also so darned accurate!)

Hahaha. I humbly accept the blamesubtlelaugh.gif. Big Congrats, Nate! Isn't this just a sweet deal for a watch? And I notice you changed into a brown strap. Looks good. Are those linen stitches? I might switch mine to a black or gray 5 ring Zulu. Enjoy that Mako 2 in good health, amigo.bravo.gif

Thanks!

The strap is a Hirsch Liberty- don't know what the stitches are, they feel like they might be synthetic. You're right about the deal. I ordered on-line and got a 50% discount; crazy cheap for this qualitythumbsup.gif

Jeff is right about the NAV-B! Great watch! Also the bead blasting is very fine: I guess that it's sand blasted as no steel beads would be so thin to achieve a so perfect job. In fact, looking closely, the sand used on this case was ulra thin as no edges been eated and each impact is tiny as a needle top: Certainly some of this red sand who's slipping through your fingers when you grab it like the sahara desert sand. Top job and who fear no light scratch...

Switch to another pilot! Revue chronowoohoo.gif

Jeff...thanks so much for the kind words amigo!!! thankyou.gif

I can heartily recommend both the 6105 and 6309, and cannot believe it took me this long to give these great vintage Seiko divers a try...these are both wonderfully designed and well built pieces...love the dimensions and design of these vintage "cushion" style cases!!!thumbsup.gif

...anyone that loves the SKXxxx series Seikos will absolutely love the 6309...very similar bezel and hands design, but with the added wrist presence of the vintage "cushion" style case.

...the 6105 is just such a classic, vintage look from the asymetric case design, to the dial and hands style IMO...so cool.

I picked it for a heck of a deal on the bay since I think most of the other models of this brand are German ish of origin? I cant say ENOUGH GREAT things about this watch. HUGE heft. its 18mm Deep. SOLID. really solid.316 steel case. Sapphire crystal. keeps amazingly accurate time. (Auto, caliber 6300 ?? ) super smooth movement.  The band, well. actually I bought a Diesel watch from across the big pond just on a chance it would fit this beast. (26mm straps) and it fits PERFECTLY, The watch on this band weighs a whopping 280 grams. the head alone weighs 170 grams.
As for the Lume? one of the coolest I have ever seen.  The entire face which is black, when exposed to the briefest of lights, turns this crazy, military green. like an old instrument panel?

well this strap is a beauty and very unique IMHO plus a great match for the charismatic CudaThumbsUp02.gif so I wear it alot.
It does attract fur and lint more than other rubbers but I can love with it in typical daily wear. But today at the beach I'm
wearing the other regular rubber that cam with it. Great beach looks too!

This brand, "Nautec No Limit" is made by Formex.... The cases, bracelets packaging is all the same as the higher end Formex watches.

The difference is no suspension system, lower end movements, ie.  Myota auto, chinese auto chronos, they do use swiss ETA quartz chronos is some also.

Otherwise..same qaulity build and materials as the higher end Formex watchesthumbsup.gif
