I am actually thinking about it from a different angle, and have been quite tempted by some of the homage pieces being offered (as I know that I would never take my 6105 underwater...and mine is not even 100% original). Yours looks absolutely sweet by the way, looks like it may even be 100% original.  I wish Seiko would actually re-introduce some of their classic divers with modern build, but these homage pieces give me quite a bit of what I like in a modern case that will perform well and, most of all, not leak if I take it underwater. ...they are still a homage though... |

well mine isn't original, at least the dial is aftermarket, the rest is probably original... Truth be told, the original is as well built as any modern watch, the crystal actually uses a real rubber gasket and all the gaskets for the 6105s are available today so there is no reason why you should be afraid to take it in the water! a few bucks in gaskets, a few days wait from china and you are as water tight as when it was new! of course thats assuming the case isn't pitted in the ring groove for the caseback gasket but 6105s usually don't pit too badly, and pitting can be repaired with epoxy and then tooled down with a dremel to provide a smooth surface for gaskets again... wow OT and Eddie's new homage does look sharp!  |

I should make that a project for my 6105 first and then my 6309 (and it would provide me with a hands-on education that I have very little experience with in the process). I know that my 6105 needs new gaskets...my primary concern is the crown as the case on my 6105 is in great shape indeed...zero pitting. I know that you do builds for other customers (that custom OWC Sub that you did here recently looked sweet indeed!), and work on watches regularly (for me, it's simply been a fear of the unfamiliar, and lack of time...so I should definitely set aside a little time and dive in). I agree with you btw...eddie really produced a great looking piece in the PRS-68...I'm guessing the case is not that easy to produce and have it look that good! |

That's a cool variation on your recently completed Typhoon Oscar! (I should have guessed you had a vintage 6105 under the bed!  )Gives it a completely different look with the choice of dial, bezel, and hands for sure. Looks great! |
