I finally pulled the trigger on the blue dial bracelet Citizen "Orca" this past Saturday and got it sized up yesterday. My initial impression is wow, why did I wait so long!?
I like everything about this watch, first no #$%@ batteries as it is an Eco Drive. Second, I really like titanium watches, especially Citizens as they are pretty scratchproof in my experience. It is a big watch but not heavy, overwhelming or uncomfortable on my 7.25-7.5"wrist. It isn't feather light though, you know when you are wearing it! I am glad I found the bracelet version, I do like rubber straps but this just "works" nicely. The 60 click bezel has knurling all the way around, plus bumpy projections along the top to make it easy to grip with gloves. Plus it lines up perfectly, something I wish I could say about watches I own that were 2-3x the price.
I just like the way the hands and dial work together, the lighter blue transitioning to a navy blue towards the edges. And the lume, wow! Cool blue, same as my Zilla. The bezel angles down to a domed crystal, I love domed crystals! Crown action is positive and smooth.
Only two caveats, one the bracelet (like my other Citizen and Seiko Ti watches) uses those little sleeves with straight pins rather than split pins or screws. Be careful not to lose one! The second is that the bracelet doesn't have a diver's extension, definitely a minus for a working dive watch. Since I haven't gone scuba diving since college that isn't much of a problem. Other than that I can't find any fault with it, especially for the <$250 I paid. I have a feeling this will get more wrist time than my Zilla and I really like that watch too. Finally, it is only the second watch I own that has WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor)! She liked my Swatch Fun Scuba because of the price tag, but this one got her approval based on appearance! I can't think of a better endorsement than that:D
Here's a couple of Q&D's:
