Came home this afternoon to find this between my storm and front door. Package obliterated. No chance to inspect with carrier present. Watch box in pieces. Russian intact and all parts accounted for, What to do. SAH has NO customer service unless I want to place an order. Apparently customers only have needs M-F 8 to 5! I find that comical in itself. I am certain this is DHL's doing and it got into USPS hands this way. Why does anyone use DHL? Sure SAH doesn't look to make money off shipping, but look at this outcome. I do not want to go through the pain in the ass of a return but I do want the complete package. Sure I am not going to wear the box but right is right. WTF would Craig Hester think to see this type of crap? I WILL NOT go through filing complaints with USPS and DHL. I fully expect SAH does this on my behalf. I am extremely agitated and dissatisfied with no outlet until Monday... The watch is sold out. should I wear it. I really want to!! Man I was gonna take pix tonight!! Look at this S**t!!

That so sucks. Yea DHL sucks like a rabid dog. I having been praying for them to go under for a few years. Had a few to many bad experiences with them too. :X

But yea that should be fully handled by SAH CS. And yea they have lame hours for a place that dose sales like they do. :( Even though many of the Slopnbc folks seem clues as to what there job is at least they are there. LOL

I hope you can get this all resolved ASAP my friend. :?

Fat chance of them going under they are an affiliate of the German postal service. I've allways had more problems with UPS smashing stuff than any other service. Seems like they operate on a chuck it into the truck basis.

Pax, I hear ya man!   It makes me angry just looking at the pics.:X  I dont let the mailman deliver my watches from SAH.  They call me and I pick them up at the post office.  The PO is only a mile away so its no big deal for me.  I dont want them leaving them in the mailbox.  I can also inspect it. I know if any damage is done its done by DHL.  Is the watch itself damaged?  Thats a tough call. If they dont have anymore and it wasnt damaged I would probably keep it. You still have the 2 year warranty for the internals. I would definately want a new box or some type of refund also.  Still a raw deal and a tough, tough call. Good luck, Scott

Thanks all. I'll wait and see what SAH has to say. They should handle the beef with DHL or USPS.... They are the shippers.I've calmed down some and the watch appears to be just fine although quite dusty from the shredding of the watchbox and packaging. I always admired these Amphibias in this cream dial color. I think the Dawg and CJ have them in cream. When I saw it in PVD I couldn't resist. Good size PVD cushion case Russian hand cranker which seems to be running fine and is no worse for its amzing journey.

1) The watch is a beauty.

2) Why in the world is USPS handling a DHL shipment?

3) I'm sure that either SAH or "The Watch Show" will make good.

4) What is a "storm door"? ;)

I've had problems with DHL also. I prefer to think of them as DOA and jump through hoops to avoid them.
On a lighter note, thats a awesome looking watch. I've never owned a Russian watch, but that might be changing now. Currently not showing on SAH, but the hunt is half the fun for me.

Thanks Tony, Oscar and Ken. I'll wait to hear back from SAH before getting too close to this one.

Ken -  SAH and others often use DHL at Home delivery. DHL handles the brunt of the delivery and the final delivery is made by USPS. This SAH package followed this route:

Once in the hands of USPS tracking is out the window.

And Ken, surely you must remember the storm door... perhaps called a screen door except this time of year the screens are storm windows. In other words the outer door which protects the inner door. Are you just messing with me??

I would send TT an personal email with the pics attached! That sticker from the USPS would make me beyond mad personally.
I have been hoping that when they make the move this month that maybe they will change shipping carriers as well.Thumbsup3.gif

It is a beautifull watch thoughhearteyes.gif

By the book, the power reserve is 41 hours on the Molnija 3603.  On the Poljot 3105, my experience is that it is as much as 63 hours.

Enjoy the watch, You bought it to wear and show off. Not to collect dust in a box. Yeah that sucks about the packaging big time. I'd be pissed to. But looking at that watch might help that felling subside.

Yea Dan , I think thats the positive way to look at it .... the watch is what Pax wanted .... and he has display box's he uses anyway ..... I think he has like 5 different winders that go each with 2 or 4 or more watches in each box ... then hes got like 10 display boxes all organized into catagories woohoo.gif

it all looks "smashing"! Next picture might have to be of that "box" as firewood. Amazing to think what an engaging thread this has been- conversations about storm doors (don't need them in warm climates), I learned a lot about Russian movements and we learn that Pax is very organized with a lot of storage space. Pax- I think we need a pic of all the display boxes and all the winders together...

Reports of my organizational skills have been greatly exagerated!!toon1.gif

As an update I received an email this morning from one Elayne Smith who I copied on my original email to SAH from this weekend. She stated SAH will file a claim with DHL and I am to hang on to the packaging until further notice. She made no mention of the item or a replacement box or discount. Truth be told, she was pretty snippy as I made mention I was a 3T member and she apparently doesn't care one way or the other. And after all the free advertising we give them!!

So, I decided to call customer service to make sure something had been noted. They could only tell me a claim was going to be filed and were surprised to hear the watch was undamaged although I clearly stated this in my email to customer service.  I requested a replacement box and was told they would let me know if thisw is possible in about 7 - 10 business days. I guess we'll see where this ends up. In the meantime I am going to start enjoying the watch!!

The Watch show move to JTV may prolong this some but really shouldn't SAH should handle it all for it was their baby at purchace. But knowing how blame cam be shuffled all over the place in matters like this good example slopnbc are masters at that. In 05 it took them 9 weeks to resolve a matter that should have been done in no more than 9 minutes. :X :?

Just hope they can come through for ya. I sure hope the JTV team is on top of there game much better with CS and all that. the SAH CS folks have not impressed me much either over the last 2 years. :(

Just an update to this new arrival. SAH has sent another Moscow classic presentation box which arrived today. I would say that's pretty good CS indeed although it took a couple of calls to get them to understand the merchandise itself was unharmed. Initially I got forms for filing a claim for missing merchandise.

Kudos to SAH/J-TV!!
