Took the wife to the outlet center today and while I was there I figured I'd go over to Seiko and let them put a new battery in my pilot watch. They can't do it I have to send it out, something about having to calibrate it after. As long as I was there, this jumped off the shelf and grabbed me and wouldn't let go.![]()

Teddy...WORD...always buy the Monster on the SS bracelet...it only costs about $10 more. Then buy either the very ugly uncomfortable Seiko OEM rubber strap or a nice aftermarket for about $20. You can either save the SS bracelet for resale or dump it on one of the sales forums for about $60 to $70.

Congrats on the buy, but my question is what kind of 'calibration' are they needing to do? A quartz watch (at least all the ones I own) at most require an AC reset after installing the battery (unless you happen to have a HEQ with a thermo-compensated quartz). Even with the HEQ, I don't think there is a 'calibration' necessary after replacement .

Hey KenC "watch" what u say about those ugly rubber straps! I like mine. (LOL) It fits my use perfectly. I wear my orange monster when im out on the boat. The rubber strap is perfect for this. I also think its very comfy. But then again, Most people think im a little crazzzy.

But when I call Seiko to tell them the watch is in the mail I will ask them, and I'll let you know
