Picked this up of a seller at WUS. This is a big handcranking pilot's watch which fits the bill. Came on a generous and supple strap which could easily been worn over my flight suit... if I had one!;)

Specs per DeBaufre:
  • Stainless steel case
  • Diameter 48 mm, including crown 53 mm, 13.8mm thick.
  • See-thru case back with blue screws and a special "Cote de Geneve" engraving
  • Water resist. 3 ATM
  • Sapphire crystal
  • Black dial, and sub dial
  • Figures with Super LumiNova
  • Leatherstrap 22 mm with thorn buckle with screws.
  • Unitas 6497 hand wind movement with 17 jewels
  • Nickel plated with blue screws
  • "Cote de Geneve" design
  • 17 jewels
Very solid and nicely finished case with a sweet domed and AR coated crystal. Lume is excellent but the dial work is just not exactly perfect. Just a bit disappointed in that respect.:? Otherwise the 6497 runs and winds extremely smoothly, especially with the easy to grasp over-sized onion crown. Despite the Huck-esque proportions, the watch sits well on the wrist and the crown doesn't dig into the back of my left hand.

As mentioned before, the watch came on a very generous and uber-fliegerish strap. It might be a little over the top given the large diameter of this flieger what with its rivets and metal keeper which give it a very militaristic look. Might be an Orb in this watch's future...;)

Thanks for having a look and excuse me for making up several words...toon1.gif

Thanks, O, Dawg, Chick, Hucky and Tony. Tony, I'm waiting to see your Orb strap before doing anything. I know you mentioned your strap was short... this one is big enough for JohnnyP!!:D

Mark, you got the upgraded strap not the OEM so different. If I had gotten that one it would have been perfect, I personally love that strap for a flieger, that is why I am having Paul build a very similar one.
