The Herc 178 arrived yesterday and so far I'm a not overly impressed. Strap is leather but very cheap feel to it and not much room for my 8 inch wrist. They do give you a second strap but its the same as the original. Too soon to report on the running of the movement. For my money I think the Alphas are a better buy. Sorry to hear about that Geoff... I bought a Herc 199 a couple of months ago and it lasted about a month before the crown snapped off in my hand while trying to wind it. I never actually wore the watch and like you was not impressed at all with the quality. The case looked like the inside of a coke can (cheap), the leather strap was really cheap and as I said the crown snapped off in my hand. coyote2.gif Bill |

Sorry to hear about this, it`s risky buying a unoriginal watch maybe made in China by children working 16 hours a day. The quality will of course be very unstable:? Too bad about your watch. :( I guess in the end, we always, always get what we pay for. Tom is right --- much better to spend on an original Seiko. |
