Well guys, it's me again...:D
I know I just posted a new arrival two days ago for my Hami Xmas present but I swear I bought this one a long time agosubtlelaugh.gif... weeks ago.... and it just arrived, 1 of 3 Homage watches I got from this seller. mistake.gif

I am hoping to buy myself a nice piece in the spring of 2010 (Rolex, Panerai, Omega since I don't own any of these brands, or a new Breitling) if "things" go well here at.. the firm ;). I have never seen a Panerai in person and it is one of the brand I was considering... I am always interested in the their looks/shape/size when I see the pics of yours in the daily threads but having never seen one, I always hesitate... I think it was Jeff who posted his GMT model a while back, a stunning piece, and I thought I 'd try a homage [or two subtlelaugh.gif] to see how the overall look/size works for me... So I found this one and he had other cheap models I would be considering in my potential Panerai purchase including a Power Reserve model and decided to check three of them out... can always flip 1 or 2 ah ah! :)
Some basic specs from seller:
Automatic (self-winding) movement
Polished 316L stainless steel case with polished bezel and back
Case diameter 44 mm without crown, height 16 mm, band width 24 mm (Love that, great 24mm straps out there:) )
Black Dial
Luminous hands
Scratch proof mineral glass
Genuine leather strap

First impressions are REAL good, I am really surprised by
- the looks [ain't that the top priority... whatever the cost, you gottta dig the looks:)]: perfect shape/design/color combo and size for my wrist! I simply love it!
- how solid it feels. Overall quality is much better than my other Parnis I think. Well put together hefty watch!
- the strap, the usual weak link for Parnis watches... it looks awesome, seems of higher quality, and is 24mm!!! A bit stiff at first but I worked it just a little and now it feels just right! No complains. It also looks great witht he white stitching.
- 24mm drilled thre lugs/Screw bar
- the lume, which I expected to be inexistent!
- how easy it was to set up the time, date and especially GMT hand.... in spite of what I had been told on another forum. It is a breeze to operate the crown and to my surprise it can be hand wound and hacks!!! The mvt and second hand sweeping are are just super smooth, almost suspiciously smooth;)
- and all that at a very very affordable price!

The low... well only one... Check the pic of the strap and the writing on it... Should not say that IMO! Just for that, I may switch the strap.

So I love it and if it was not too late I would have ordered one for my dad!! I can tell it'll get a lot of wrirst time and I cannot wait to receive the other two!ThumbsUp02.gif
Upcoming Men 44mm POwer Reserve

& the Blue Dial 44mm Date Auto

Thanks for reading my long winded thread (sorry) and now on to the pics!

Well you can clearly see from the markings on the strap that this is more a counterfeit than an homage. These ass clowns are obviously selling the same piece with Pam markings. Sorry but that jut pisses me off as all the WIS who are buying Parnis are inadvertently supporting counterfeiting. Personally, Bought one which was junk and never thought to buy a second.

Sorry for the rant but this just turns my stomach!:X

Congrats with a good looking watch.:)
I must be honest and say that I don`t like these so called homage, the are fakes and I hope you get the chance to buy a genuine Panerai. Nothing can beat the feeling you get when wearing the REAL thingtoon1.gif

NO worries about the rant, and my apologies for getting you upset...
I had no idea the strap has those Panerai inscriptions inside and I don't know the typical markings on a typical Pam strap as I have never seen one. I gotta be honest with you, I really did not focus on the strap at all when I bought it as I expected it to be junk anyway and expected to replace it with one from Ron. I just loved the dial and case and figured it'd allow me to gauge the fit/looks of a Pam. But I don't disagree with you, it is not a practice I approve of and it is my only low on the watch as I indicated in my OP. I expected it to be an homage like many others sold on various websites I see on the daily WURW thereds whether under the Parnis name or others. They definitely should not have inscripted Panerai on the inside of the strap.
It is otherwise a cool watch for the $ and definitely swayed me towards buying a REAL Panerai when the time comes to buy, hopefully in the spring. I have three Parnis watches ( 2 are not PAM "homages") and I would say none are junk, perhaps I got lucky but they keep good time and look good IMO (subjective though) especially with the new straps I put on.
My apologies to those I offended or upset with this posting/pics.

Nice score Brice!  hand6.gif    Its a big chunky HOMAGE that looks.  Probably if it leads you towards getting a real Panny, they should be thankful for homages like this one. Gratz on your new watch. Nice pics too!

Hey no worries. I'm surely not upset with you. I'm just surprised at how often WIS get sucked into spending their dough with what really amounts to counterfeiters. They know you won't buy it if it is marked as a fake so they simply put their name on the dial instead. The strap shows their true colors.

IMHO the $$ spent on these and the Alphas are just supporting makers of replicas in a less direct way. Frankly, and yo have to learn this for yourself, the $ spent on Chinese crap could be better allocated toward say a real Panny. $60 here...$80 there... it adds up. It takes time and determination to get there so keep it rolling.;)

Well the other two arrived (Reserve and Blue dial) and they are equally well built and seems very smoot to set/operate, hack...  Nice looking watches for sure.

Straps so not have Panerai inscriptions:)hand6.gif

Well, coming from someone who owns a couple real ones, how does it look for me to buy the "homages" to wear for everyday use while my real deals sit in a lock box? (long story short, last time I wore my Luminor Daylight out and about, some random drama happened and i got to see it it sliding face first across the road, it made it about 30 feet before bouncing off the curb) And I have a mini anxiety attack if i bump one of my 30 dollar beaters. So I hope you all can imagine my pain that day.
either way, I just LOVE that case design. so much. But i dont take the chance to much anymore to wear them unless its a special occasion. SO, I buy the homages and am happy. in the last 5 years since I picked up my first Pam, do you know how many people have said to me, "is that a Panerai?" exactly twice. once from a random restaurant owner and once at disney world. (which was a nightmare in and of itself, trying to make sure I covered it up on every ride, terrified I would bump or bang it again, or something of the sort. and dont EVEN get me started on how I felt when I left it in the hotel room for a few hours. ) I am not rich by any means. I have only the 2 Pams in my collection that are worth that much, and I owned a beat up Rollie Sub that I got for a song, but sold that quickly as I did not like it at all. So I try to make sure that I keep them in as pristine condition as possible.  For the rest of the time, out of the 50 or so watches left in my collection, I wear my homages almost more than anything else.
So I understand the anger at buying a "fake or homage" watch. But I cant afford to wear the real deal all the time with my lifestyle. in the meantime, untill I can truly retire and just sit on the beach and look at my watches, I will buy and wear cheapos that look good. Heck, my Marathons and ocean7s and Benarus barely make it out of the box.
And here is a truly sad thing. I have had more comments and recognition of my under 70 Invicta PD in the last 4 days, than I have had since I bought my first Pam 5 and a half years ago. coyote2.gif

Well, perhaps a different tack on this post but you mentioned saving up for a Rolex, Panerai, Breitling, etc.  Of those mentioned (owning only Rolex and Breitling) I would certainly go for the Breitling,  while still an expensive watch, I believe if to be a better value than a Rolex and I think that it holds its value as well.  I would not invest in the bracelet or expensive Breitling strap, but rather get a nice custom strap from our favorite vendors.  I always think Breitling looks better on a strap.

As a plus, I believe in the last year or so, Breitling has moved to making their own proprietary movement.
