Hi Guys. Have had nothing new to show until now. Just finished winning this baby in a writing contest at another forum.

Thanks for the comment. I will take better pictures once it arrives. Here is a link to the C.D. website that shows it a little better:

Big Congrats on the win and the watch, Omegaman.cool10.gif

It's ok. Strikes me as a Hublot with that case design and bezel. It's on the avant garde side and knowing how passionate you are about vintage watches, I'm unsure if this is youtoon1.gif.

Wear it in good health, thoughyourock.gif

Not the sort of watch I will go out and buy, but I would also take it for free!
Congrats, and why don't you share with us what you wrote?  Who knows, we might just club together and reward you again!subtlelaugh.gif

Wow, I had no idea CD made designs like this. A unique piece, for sure and quite valuable. Congrats on winning the writing contest. Which forum did you write for?

Congrats on the win. I wrote a couple essays but neither were worthy of an entry in the contest. Glad the C.D. went to one of our own.

Not my cup of tea and think they are asking a ridiculous price for it but you can't complain when it's free and I suspect that it might be one of those timepieces that looks nicer in flesh than pictures.

By the way, I read your text and I was quite touched by it, this is a beautiful "TRUE" story...You well deserve you price Omegaman ! Very well done. I enjoyed my reading from the beginning to the endThumbsup3.gifThumbsup3.gif

DM71: Thanks I am glad you liked my story. I guess it is easy to write when it comes from the heart. There is not time that I wear this watch an do not think of my father. Hopefully I will pass this passion down to my son.
I too think that this watch will look better in the flesh. It is not an easy watch to photograph, especially with the green dial. We will see. i am supposed to get this puppy tomorrow.

Tony:thankyou.gif

Agaspar: I too have a feeling that I will like this one in spite of it's lack of charm at first sight.

Again a big thanks to all who have commented in this post.

Omegaman41, I read your submission, and was honestly touched -- the memories of the time spent with your father, the care he showed for the watch and the joy you felt at getting the gift. Very nicely done, and I hope your son will appreciate it like you do.

Cheers,
rob.

those big blocky watches have a strange charm. At first you don't like them then you start to see them as weapons :D but in the end they are beautiful in their own way. Congrats on the win.

well, I like CD, I have a Falcon Command. I always liked that model, big but not so thick it seems like a weapon. Congrats, if you don't like it, I bet you could sell it uber quick...

This may sound disturbing...but seems
to me,it looks somewhat of a cross-breed
between a Audemars Piquet Royal Oak and
a Hublot, with a bit of Bell and Ross mixed in.

Yet,the strap is very reminscent of the Ulyse-Nardin
Chronometer style of design.subtlelaugh.gifsubtlelaugh.gif

Cheers,
Simon

Thanks Omegaman.

Perhaps the watch company should change
their name to:

Chase Werdelin Hublot Piquet Nardin-Durer.

That's like having a child with a last name for his
first name,three middle names and
two different
last names. C.W.H.P. Nardin-Durer,is a mouthful.

However with the modern trend of having larger dials fitting all this in would not be a problem.

Cheers,
Simon
