About the Art Deco Men's Movado:

The back of this watch has the name A.T. Hill
engraved on it. After doing some investigative work,
I came across a bit of insight to who A.T. Hill was.

A.T. Hill was an American Archaeologist born in
Cisne,Illinois on November 21,1871. He and family
moved to a homestead in Phillips County,Kansas in 1878.

Simon

Those are really nice - just a pity the pics are a bit blurry.  Have you tried a macro setting on your camera?
Nice to see you posting again!hand6.gif

Hi Graham,

Yes, I did try the macro setting on my 8 year old
Olympus C-720. Being a 3 MegaPixel camera with
10x Zoom,it was a challenge due to the fact there
is no stabilization built into the lens.

However, I will try to post some more pics
of my timepieces hopefully those will turn out
better,than what I've posted.

It's good to be back for now and I wish everyone
the very best wishes during these Olympic Games.

Cheers,
Simon

Welcome back, Simon! Great to see your avatar and posts again. I thought you were at the Olympics...toon1.gifracing down the ski slopes.

Of your 2 watches, I'd go for the round one. Very classic. Big Congrats, amigohand6.gif

Thanks Jeff,

But as luck would have it; I am not a skier.
As a matter of fact, I am working 13 hour days
selling watches.

The round Movado was the watch
that I've posted previously.
It still has the Bralux Dark Brown Crocodile Strap.

I've wound up selling it and managed to buy
it back at double what I sold for.

Cheers,
Simon

Thanks Bill,

However, there is still a little bit of work on the Art Deco
such as a replacement glass crystal and the dial
needs to be tighten up.

Which would be in a few months.

Cheers,
Simon

Welcome back Simon, two great looking watches, I actually prefer the rectangular one over the round one...it has a more classic vintage look IMO...but two great watches anyway. Thumbsup3.gif

Thanks Nabco,

It's great to be back, kinda miss not having to
keep up with everyone's new arrivals,
nice to see some fabulous timepieces every now and then.

Scoring the Art Deco Movado would probably be my
highlight of 2010...simply because it was such a
rare opportunity that I really couldn't pass up.

It is a 17 Jewel Manual Wind whereas, for
my 1957 Movado Tempo-Matic is a 17 Jewel Automatic.

Cheers,
Simon

Thank you for the kind comments Omegaman
and Natevan.

Sadly, you really don't see many Art Deco Movado
watches in both Mens and Ladies sizes, probably because
of the availability of parts.

I have been wearing one on each wrist,it looks odd
to some people. When asked I just say that I am keeping track of the accuracy on one of them.subtlelaugh.gif

Cheers,
Simon

Great watches there, really classy dress types.
Try taking a picture by the window in daylight no flash, against a white background. Your camera should have a little flower setting for close up shots?
I would really like to see a good picture of these....that would be great!!

Thanks ndburley for the advice...I'll try that when
in the next few days. The last photo was shot at
1:10AM with the Macro setting in the on position.

Cheers,
Simon
