The Fedex man brought this one today-

Omega 2531.80.00

I bought the quartz version of this one a few years back; before I became enamored with automatic movements. This one came along very gently used & at the right price; so I had to do it.

I replaced the blue bezel with one in steel like the one that was on my quartz. I think it's more versatile in terms of dress.(I'm kinda anal that way) I suppose that technically It Isn't a 3531.80.00 anymore as I can't figure their ref numbers.

It runs the Omega Cal 1120, which I think is a heavily gussied-up 2892-A2. At any rate; my first " Chronometer"

If there is a dive watch standard, the Omega SMP has to be at the top of the list.  Awesome watch !!!!!!!!

The only watch I have never even considered parting with is my Electric Blue SMP.  Its non negotiable, it stays until I die.

Nice Score  yourock.gif

Thanks to all for the kind words!

I'm really gonna have to take it easy for a while. I just got a Sea Angler & have a Sea Viper on reserve. Oh, plus a Benarus Worldiver too. My wallet is starting to echo whan I open it :D

Great looking Seamaster with the bezel mod.Thumbsup3.gif I've never been enamored of the skeleton hands but the 2531.80 really is the Bond SMP and that's way cool. :D As has already been stated you really can't go wrong with an SMP. Great watches, very versatile and a great smooth and accurate movement.

Thanks Pax. Switching the bezel was pretty easy, which is fortunate, since nobody around here will touch one.
