Yes I have never had a Vostok run to that extreme but I am guessing they are basing it on thier environment, it gets really cold so it would speed up.
As for my personal experience of this make they are normally very good time keepers for the price and kitch looks about them. I would recomend Vostok for a collection any day. Oh when if you do, dont get one of the normal looking ones (unless its the LE vostok diver as that is brilliant) Vostok are very proud of thier country and military and that kind of pride shows in a lot of thier watch designs.

Ignore the steel strap reference I did edit that out but I think it was deleted as I mentioned a website. Its a soft black leather strap, fairly nice but will most likely replace it with a chunker strap.

The part that impressed me was the fact,
that the Vostok had 31 jewels with a ball bearing rotor.

Not even any of my previous Swiss watches offered 31 Jewel
movement!
