IMO one of the nice things about these watches is they look good on all straps and you can change it daily if you want. If this is your first LUM style homage I would recommend getting the spring bars that look like the screws, makes it REALLY EASY to change the strap with no possiblity of damaging the lugs...i actually use a tooth pic to change straps. BTW, great looking watch ![]() |

I have NO idea what you are talking about. Where can i see these spring bars, and where can I get them? I have a Luminor that i picked up a few years back for a song and a dance, and one of the reasons was because the screw bar was stripped and screwed in all dinked up. The bracelet was broken, and no way to get it off. (I got it for SOOOo much less because of it, But i dremeled out the screw. (very carefully) and now use spring bars, but I am embarresed to be out and about with it, as a Pam doesnt like right without screws. IMO. please. tell me more!! i have been collecting the "Homages" for YEARS. Since the first companies got busted by richemont, and I have been destroying the lugs for YEARS with a screw driver. |

So Seagull really makes those movements? That just seems like Buick making a Ford motor. Well now that I think about it, is that not what the SW200 is? I thought SW used to make movements for ETA and that's how they got the equipment. |

From My understanding, And I could be wrong, and If I am, I am sure I will be corrected, there are different levels of "homages" the more expensive ones use Luminova, the Seagull, and have sapphire crystals, also, allegedly, you can go in water with them. (not happening on my part) The reason why these homages are not always looked upon favorably, as thats the ones that end up with copyrighted labels on them. (not cool. I do not condone rep watches) but there is also a "knockoff of a knockoff" in the lower end MMs. If anything, the Chinese are masters at resourceful reverse engineering. From what I understand, the Seagull is currently in negotiations to replace all the Unitas Movements, as they will no longer be sold within a few years. (Am I way off base here? did I read this somewhere or completely pull it from my Arse? ) |

You are may be off a little on the movement...I own probably 11 or 12 PAM Homages and with the exception of one they all have Swiss Unitas 6497 or 6498 movements (not Chinese clones/Seagulls) with Sapphire, I would consider these to be the high end homages and you would expect to pay anywhere from $450 to $600 for one |

So you're saying that Seagull will have the rights to make the movement? I wonder if Panerai will make it's own handwind for the Historics and the Base I know the Panerai's have a different parts and run really tight. Mine is +-1 second a day. |

The first brown leather and rally looks good! I'm surprised to hear that Seagull would replace all Unitas and ETA 6497-6498...?????? Personnaly, I will stop to buy those movements if the production is placed in China. They bought Hummer and newly Volvo: But who would buy a Hummer or any Volvo made in China? Seriously...WTF? Remember me when Casio bought Yema and trashed it to the level of cheap watches after 17 years of ownership, then declared it bankrupt and sold it back to the French... ![]() ![]() ![]() |
