Well...I know that there are several here at 3T that have had the Dievas Kampfschwimmer for a long, long time (both in the massive acrylic crystal version and the domed sapphire crystal version). I have always loved the look of these, and we all know that Dievas makes a truly fantastic watch for the dollar invested, so I decided to pick up this gently used Kampfschwimmer and I'm wondering what took me so long!!! This is my first wire lug style watch, and I have to say that I really, really like this one alot. Dievas did a fantastic job with the vintage lume and dial, and I love the fantastic blued hands. This case is a marvel to look at and I have to say that taking pictures that do this watch justice is a very difficult task indeed. In the hand, it is a truly beautiful piece and the case work is incredible. This is the double domed sapphire crystal model...done so well that there is no distortion looking through the crystal at very steep angles. I'm loving it!!  Watch specifications: Maker: Dievas Movement: Swiss Unitas 6497 mechanical movement with Côtes de Genève and blued screws Dial: Black california dial. Blue hands. Luminance: Vintaged lume. Luminova. Case: High polished 316L stainless steel. Contoured sides. Case Back: Display or Steel back. Dievas signed polished screwdown stainless steel Bezel: High polished 316L stainless steel Crown: 3mm Diamond shaped crown Lug: 26mm. Removeable. Crystal:Domed scratch resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating Strap: Thick calf leather strap with vintage knife edge sewn-in buckle Water resistance: 30m Dimensions: 46.5mm in diameter, 52mm lug to lug, 17mm thick Power Reserve: ~42 hours ...and some pics   Please forgive my finger print smudge on the crystal in this shot.... Skipdawg, heyman, Tony, Jeff, mcwright, William, Willieboy, and Mark....Thank you guys for the continued kind words and congrats!!!! ...I know that many of you have been enjoying yours for years, so I am very happy to have finally joined the club!!! Yes...indeed...the Kampfschwimmer is one sweet piece!!! heyman - The lume is not spectacular in the realm of the brightest out there, but not bad considering this has a "Vintaged Lume" which I believe is the regular Luminova type. In the daylight, gives it that nice vintage look, with enough longevity to make it out into the night. This is not C3 Superluminova, however. Mark - agree regarding the strap search...this is one of those great pieces that launches you off looking for that "perfect" strap combination...I have already started looking...stay tuned! Graham, and Bill...agree, those blued hands on this rendition of the Kampy is a nice touch...they can go stealth depending on the lighting, but when the light is intense or catches them at the right angle, they really light up beautifully. |
