Well...arriving this week is the "new-to-me" Bali Ha'i (Project 1) watch...courtesy of my good friend and all around great guy, Brice (aka: Jeep99dad). Thanks Brice!!!! I am a relatively late adopter of this one for sure, but have always loved the original Bali Ha'i for everything that it is, and nothing that it is not!!!! I will keep my review relatively short, since everyone is so familiar with this one. The Project 1 Bali Ha'i case is just so chucky with very cool angular details in the design that have to be seen in person to appreciate (the bezel for instance with it's angular cuts intersecting the nice radius going from the crystal to the bezel outer diameter creates is a very cool, and unique design)!!! The case and bezel machining work is simply outstanding, and the 120 click unidirectional bezel is rock solid with fantastic precision. The entire package is really amazing from the pelican case packaging, to the warranty and screwdrivers delivered wrapped in burlap!! This is a serious 1000m diver in the construction details, but I really LOVE the "unique to Bali Ha'i" hands and dial script that are just so "hang loose" and casual. This one succeeds at offering "something different" IMO, and I'm glad I added this one to my meager collection!!!woohoo.gif I took some quick pics on the leather strap and then put it immediately on my Benarus Moray Rubber strap which I think complements the angular design of the Project 1 Bali Ha'i quite well. Tony, Mike, Nick, Brice (thanks for letting this one go amigo...), Bill, mcwright, ndburley, Mark, tpdtopcop, and Chris...Thanks for the kind words and congrats guys!!! Bill - The Bali Ha'i is a very solid piece (a bit of a tank, but be assured, not as tankish as my macro wrist shots would indicate...while not a small piece in any way, it wears smaller than those pics show...). Mark - ... Agree Chris, "Life is good on the Bali Ha'i"...hand6.gif Last edited on Wed Apr 28th, 2010 10:02 am by stew77 |
