happy guy.gifWell I sold some pieces I dont wear & a little coin outa my pocket & viola.

                                  Rolex ExplorerII (random serial#)

It's got the new  completely in house 3186 movement incorporating the Parachrome Blue hairspring. As a minor modification to the tried and tested 3185, Also the rehaut is engraved, the bracelet is luxury @ it's finest, those of you that own an Omega can appreiciate what I'm saying. The slightly raised, flat sapphire crystal is perfect for this watch. I am generally not a fan of Cyclops magnifiers on a crystal but this just flows w/ the piece. It's a little small @ 39mm but it wears bigger IMO, It's got a stealthy low profile.  Bezel is fixed which I generally dont like, but again it flows w/ the style of ths timepiece.

Pros so far are 3186 mvmt,Amazing comfort,Stealth factor

Cons, which I had to search for, Poor lume(which makes me sad),No AR coating, bracelet adjust is just your typical adjustments

I did my research b4 purchasing this 1-To say I'm extremely happy is an understatement- I'm exctaticsponge bob.gif

Wanted to thank you guys since I've joined this forum, you have opened my eyes to what a TIMEPIECE is, w/ all the different LWIG & The  DAILY wrist shows.

THANKS DUDESyou rock.gif

Looking great William! Congrats my friend! Did you get a deal on this black dial or did you choose it in front of the white model?

Congrats brotha! Very nice, and agree that it wears bigger than its 39mm (from your pictures), it looks perfect amongst the forest of tattoos toon1.gif
Great to hear that you are so happy with it, nothing (more or less) beats getting a piece you have been drooling over, and finding out that it´s all you wanted it to be.
Wear it is good health brotha!

Nice grab, William. The Explorer II is an excellent choice imho. If and when I go back to the Rolex well (like you thinking of dumping dust catchers), I'll make the same move you did but to the white dial. Congratulations!!thumbsup.gif

Your words r APPRECIATED, Selling all the S*@T  I used to collect 2 purchase the last two Rolex's is THE best decission I've made in quite awhile..

But now I'm runnin' out of crappy pieces to sell, which in turn means I'm gonna have to come outa pocket from now onwhichone.gif.......

The white dial is too dressy for me I'm a jeans & t-shirt mansubtlelaugh.gif

Not sure I understand why the lume is poor. Was this an old stock model per chance? Not sure what Rolex is using for lume these days.

Excellent choice and color from the House of Rolex, William. I would have chosen black, too. Just curious why lume is weak. Rolex has decent lume, though.

Big Congrats on the Expy2

Lume is weak that's all I'm saying, but It's not like I'm going cave exploring or diving anytime soon, since I live in the desertsubtlelaugh.gif

I just thought it would glow alot more

No don't think it was ,I just thought It would be alot brighter then it is, it's not like theres no lume, but I'm a LUME nut, so sometimes I compare something like Seiko's lume which I should'nt.

Does the lume need charging or does it glow on its own. I recall my old GMT II glowed without charging for many years before it went dark.

Either way, it is a classic watch that is not always easy to find. thumbsup.gif

My experience with my GMT II is that you are never going to be overwhelmed by the lume but it is VERY persistent!! The lume is long lasting with little charge though never blinding. I would classify it as excellent.

I never went in2 a real dark room w/ lights offoh my.gif, well 2day I did  hit my surefire flashlight to it & lume is fine just not in your face like I thought it would be. BUT I'm way pleased w/ the purchase
