I don't know why I waited so long on this one. I liked them when they came out around 2008, and the price keeps going up and the availability has dropped. This is really a nice watch in the hand. The finish is excellent. I like the 20mm lugs and 45mm case because it keeps the focus on the head piece.

Truly a great watch Steve! It`s a lot of watch for the money. I love my seikos, and just got to get me a sumo one of these days. Enjoy it!

The NATO is great because the lugs are far away from the case and the strap slides in easily and fills the gap distange from the lug bar to the case.

I just noticed on this picture that the bracelet looked crooked and I checked under my watch and the spring bar wasn't seated properly and was coming out. That's because I put the bracelet back on for the photos after I had it on the NATO. So the bracelet is not crooked, I was just not being careful.

Congrats Steve, and agree with you on all fronts!!!  The Seiko Sumo is a killer watch and great value. thumbsup.gif

I agree on your Nato/Zulu comment given the long lugs...I will have to give that combo a try myself.

Enjoy!!!

Man I wish I could come to HK with you :)
I hope you have a great trip both from business and personal standpoint. Gotta be a great experience.

Btw do you think MM300 hands could be installed on the Sumo??:)

That too, if I get the bezel in time! I have a travel roll, I can take 5 watches... We sell them on the benarus site for ONLY $30 USD http://www.benaruswatches.com/custom/index.php Get um while they last! Ha Ha!

That would be a question for Jake B. of DOTWATCHWORKS, or Duarte of NEWATCHWORKS. This is my first Sumo and first 6R15 movement and I haven't given any thought to even opening it up. No mods for me on this one.

Thanks everyone. The Seiko also came with this Japanese cloth. I have asked the seller if he included it or if it came with the watch when it was sent over from Japan. I don't have his answer yet. I think it looks nice on my shelf next to my other Japanese import.

I learned from the seller that the watch and cloth came together from Chinos Watch Co. in Japan.

Very good choice, Steve. You will love counting the edges, corners, curves and sides of the Sumo case. Chinos is one of the Big 3 of Japan and I think only he supplies fabrics like that.

Enjoy the Sumo in good health for a long time.

Mate - your last photo shows the camel toe at 12 very well! Jokes aside - the Sumo photographs well, and your pic is one of the nicest I have seen which shows dial depth, markers and overall fit and finish. Yes, prices have creeped up, but it is still very good value for $$. Ballistic lume and a good 'ole reliable 6R15 under the hood.

I have had the blue and black Sumos - sold both and now regret it. Next time - they will be keepers. The orange never made it onto my wrist, but I think it might also be a nice upgrade from the stellar Orange Monster one day..

The thing about Sumos is that they do everything right, and look good on the wrist. Can't ask for more than that!

Enjoy it sir!

the sumo has one of the best shaped cases out there imho

the orange dial is strangely appealing (i know hands do not match dial etc...)

rubber or nato looks awesome on this..
