Always liked the look of the Seiko Monster, and as it`s considered the watch in terms of lume, well I had to have one (being quite the lume nut that I am ...)
Compared to the Seiko Pepsi (same price level) the finish is not that impressive, but hey, we`re not talking a expensive watch here, but something that can take a beating an last quite a while.

Got the one on the rubber strap, but wish I got the bracelet cause I read that it`s really nice (And the 20mm rubber on it is ac crap as it gets, as it tapers down to 17 mm or something like that, and makes it look like something a kid would wear) So got it on a zulu, and haven`t looked back since. Might even order the bracelet for it.

After an evening with only dim indoor lighting it still glowed impressively when I woke up, so must say it lives up to its reputation regarding the lume. And mine is running +1/24h as of now, so we`ll see where it settles, but looks like I was lucky at least.

QD`s only unfortunately, but this one has been covered to the max several places, so guess you know the deal ...

The lume pic is after i held a led light over it for aprox 1 min, and then had it in complete darkness for an hour ...Pretty nice imo.

thankyou.gifTony:0) Must say I`m impressed by these low-cost seikos, and have a few of them by now. This will probably not get the most wrist time, but serves a purpose 4sure

crazy.gif The monster is a great piece IMO,

I have 1 that I've beat to hell & back & it stills tickn' away like a champ. I bead blasted mine so I could continue to beat it up w/o the battle wounds showing.

Congratulations,
I'm still not sure if I love to hate the monster or hate to love it... in either case I have an orange one and it does get worn!

Big congrats to your new SEIKO Monster my friend !

The Monster is a classic in the SEIKO line up over many years.

I love the hand set of the SEIKO Monster, especially the hour hand.

And the lume is awesome of course.

+1. Lume is tops on the Monster line. Congrats on the purchase, Rolf.
If I may suggest, try out the rubber waffles. No need to get the original one from Seiko but the light duty waffles will do just as well....might need a little cut on the lug end side though.

Here are some pix of what I mean just taken minutes ago.

Thank you Jeff, and the waffles look great! Might just get me one of those. And seeing yet another orange one here, well, I`m sold. So needs me some color to, and orange it is:0) Have you tried it out on a mesh Jeff? That would look sweet to

Rolf, just my opinion....I don't think this particular Monster line would look good on mesh. This line looks best in their original issue bracelets or in zulus/natos.

Hunting trips?Nah, the last hunting trip I had the TunaCan 300m for a week pluss, and was constantly a bit afraid of it getting banged up. So next time it will be one of my Casio Protreks I think. But after I put the monster on a five ring james bond zulu, I have been warming up to it even more, so it will be in the daily rotation for a while now:0) And have a few more 20mm straps incoming for it also. Gotta`love it.
