I will make a very long story short here and leave out out the ups and downs of this long process. I have always loved the Panerai 232 but the Price and the 47mm size has kept me from obtaining one so I did the next best thing IMHO I made a Panerai 210 look like a 232 with out the price and size. Some Panerai people would never think of doing a mod on an original Panerai but I think Panerai should make the 210 with gold hands from the factory.
I ordered a set of gold hands and they showed up great but then I realized the lume did not match in the dark so I was on the hunt for another set and after talking to lots of collectors and the Panerai service center I found an overseas maker that made spot on gold replacement hands and after jumping through all of that odd ducks' hoops I had in my hands the correct parts. for all of three days. New Panerai 210 check, one set of matching lume replacement gold hands check, now off to Jay at MCWW and let the wait begin. 278.gif
Jay had my watch for about three weeks (we joked he had had it longer then me) and he did an outstanding job . I was really happy to receive it back and it showed up the day I left for vacation so I had to wait another week to enjoy it as I had already picked my two watches for my trip. I returned Monday and it has been on my wrist ever since.
End of my not so short story. Now a few photos! thumbsup.gif
Thanks for checking it out!

Looks great to me! Love it like that too! So if I get it right: This 210 is 45mm with glass-back and the 232 is 47mm with steel back, both with same movement...Then the 232 is twice the price of the 210...?
Well, I'm with you there Trent

Thanks Chris and Will! thankyou.gif
Chris the vacation was outstanding and really need. I have been playing catch up since Monday but we had a great time and the weather lets say was top shelf !

Will you are correct the 210 is 45mm and display back but the 232 has an in-house movement. I would still love to have a 232 but I had this 210 on lay-away for almost three months. My wife had a hard time understanding putting a watch on lay-away but I bought it before the last price increase and saved $800-$900.

Thanks again guys!

Yes, I've seen the new 232 with in-house movement but the old model was housing the OP.6659 also: Look there http://www.righttime.com/rt/pre-owned/pam232.htm

great mod on the gold hands!

both the PAM 210 and 232 (and 249) share the same movement, OP X calibre which is a base ETA 6497 movement.

The 47mm PAM 021 which was produced in 1997 does come with gold hands and is running a Rolex 618 movement. Only 60 pieces were produced by Panerai and it's a very sought after collector's item.
