Sorry. Looks like maybe the Armitron was inserted in transit. Watch and accessories is clearly printed on the box. So, I'm guessing it was stolen. Just a guess. |

before you go off on someone as being a rip off,and causing any harm to someone with what may turn out to be false accusations...check the weight on the postal slip, against the actual weight of the package that arrived at your door...if they are not the same then chances are it was someone in transit that pulled the switch(Customs,carrier,etc..),also,did the package appear to be tampered with?....,did you contact the postal service immediately after opening the package, they will investigate...and most of all,why wasn't the package insured for $5700. and shipped overnight!!! |

Talk about kicking some1 when he is down..Thanks guys it's appreciated William, You are right pal. It appears that you did due diligence but something went wrong. Is the seller taking the stand that he holds no responsibility in the matter? What bonehead would ship a $500 let alone $5700 watch uninsured? From the look of the package it does appear that it was tampered with. I sure hope you get a favorable result. |

Just to add something on Williams behalf from the get go on this purchase the communication was pathetic, William would send message after message & it would take days for him to respond blaming it on the Holidays & time differences from the US to Norway? Will did as much checking as any of us could have done & this guy had good reviews like great communication & fast shipping etc. like any of us would have done. Will was helping me move a refrigerator today when the package arrived he opened it before we unloaded the refrigerator to a box of bubble wrapped used ceramic tiles & a used Armitron ladies watch! I'm not sure we will ever find out what really happened but lets think for a second if Customs are the culprits did they just happen to have those used tiles just sitting around & why put any sort of watch in the box, a thief is a thief what was the purpose of the watch? Like I said earlier we will probably never get to the bottom of this mess but one thing for sure William (watchdaddy1) is the victim here & shouldn't be chastised for making a wire transfer & believing what fellow watch folks posted which led to him following through with the transaction, JMO......... |

The seller replied to William's post on WUS wanting to work it out and even brings up refund. I'm very sorry William. It's horrible to deal with such issues. I hope it's not a dishonest seller and you guys work it out. The box looks like its been tempered with, it's not unheard of that either customs or PO/shipping company employees steal package contents. Maybe it's not the seller. Have you spoken to him recently since he posted on WUS? So the seller didn't insure it?? That's unbelievable that he would not spend a few extra bucks on insurance for a $5700 watch! That's definitely not good practice for sure, I'd never do that. Have you spoken to anyone about your options? Filed with the shipping company or PO? |

My bank said sorry nothing they can do about it & I bank @ BofA Postal service said he has to file a claim & Brice he did insure it, but what does that do for me. I posted this for the right purpose & to inquire results /options I may have if any. Now on some other forums i belong too people r doing the blaming game, "maybe I'm the dishonest 1 here", maybe this, maybe that , I TRULY BELIEVE IT WAS HIM..I'm best friends w/ Bob aka warriorrider here on the above post, & he was w/ me & knows all the selling & saving I did for this purchase. I also did all my due dilligence on the seller, because I purchase the seller 1st b4 anything & I was a little worried after sending the $$ bcuz it took him hours sometimes days to get back w/ me AFTER I HAD ALREADY WIRED THE $$. Will here on our forum "the sheriff " said he was ok that he had purchased a watch from him, BUT THAT TOO WAS AFTER I HAD ALLREADY SENT THE $$$. because I was worried & asked Rolf if he knew him then WILL emaild me that he knew him too. BOTTOM LINE IS I'M OUT ALOT OF $$ (@ least thats alot for me) |

This is a hard pill to swallow William..if he insured the item and it goes missing...somebody has to cough up the value of the item...its my opinion that he should do the honorable thing and refund your money..and let him file a claim for the watch and get what he is owed from the shipping company. |

both William and Ronny have been good customers of Benarus. Ronny has purchased the Sea Devil and Megalodon 2 in the past and William has been a good customer purchasing a few watches from us. An FYI on shipping: On our international shipments, we have the watches securely packed in the Benarus boxes that are inside the shipping box, we use brand new sturdy shipping boxes and on the customs forms I use the term "Timing instrument"... never the word "watch". |

The seller's priority right now is his little kid which could be his special birthday, etc. The seller can't do anything right now anyways since he is probably waiting for some responses from the postal institution so why miss your precious kid's party in the meantime?....They are only (at a young age) once. I'm not trying to save Ronny but he only used green tape from what he said. Glass-fiber reinforced tape was used around the tiles and over the package after opening: Same tape on both. Make me think that even Ronny could have access to this glass-fiber tape: Why would he close the package with green tape, open it again with a knife, set tiles with glass-fiber tape around with a little watch, then repack the whole stuff with the same glass-fiber tape for then posting it to the USA? Smells to me like someone had fun with this package on the postal services. And for those who think that's it's smart to declare full value on the package: YEAH! Write "ROLEX value 10000$" on your package and you can be damn sure that it will NEVER arrive if any poor average Joe set his eyes on it in the post services! This done, when you claim the sum, the postal services will tire you with 5000 procedures, 5000 rejects and 5000 days of delays before they even considerate to give you back half of this money! So you better get a lawyer who's bad to the bone on them back if you want a refund over 1000$. No thieves go for a "Defectuous watch 25$" , he take the Rolex: What do you believe? First, regardless of what one thinks of Willams way of dealing with this, I think we all can understand his frustration, and I for one have no problem being sympathetic with him in this. That being said, I have been a kind of a middle-man more or less from the get go on this whole mess, and have talked to William as well as ronnanol from the time William sent the money (as I found out he is a member of the same Norwegian forum as me) And William is right, ronnanol wasn`t super quick to reply to his e-mails, but he did reply quite quickly to my PM´s. And from what I can remember, it was aprox three days from the money was sent by William until he replied back, and then two more days before the package was shipped. There is a 6h time difference between Norway and the states, but I for one would make it my number one priority to send the watch as soon as I possibly could, at least when there is this amount of $$ involved. And also kept the correspondence the whole time. With this being said, from what I can tell from the PM´s sent to me from ronnanol, I for one don´t think he has tried to scam William. Rather I think, as several others here suggests, that there is a A-hole somewhere in the postal service wearing a PAM instead of the crappy watch William received. Hammerfjord/William makes a good point imo regarding the fact that there is a difference with the package ronnanol sent, and the package William received. Why would a scam artist even send anything? And not just collect the money, and go underground? And, for what it´s worth William, what´s in your best interest here is to try to solve this whole ordeal with ronnanol, and maybe even get your money back, at least some of it (fingers crossed that the claim ronnanol is making is approved) And I´m just trying to look out for you here brotha, hope you know that. But again, I don´t think he´s scamming you, rather than both of you have been had here. I will do whatever you want IOT help here buddy, and I´m continuing to PM ronnanol (and he´s replying) And last I asked if he would consider calling you so that you could talk this over, and see what can be done. But I think this may be a bit counterproductive continuing to call him a scam artist until things are in the open. Just my 2 cents ... But I feel for you BIG time here buddy, and hope there is some light in the end of the tunnel somewhere. Last edited on Fri Jan 13th, 2012 02:53 pm by FnuSnu99 |

William, unfortunately this is looking more and more like you were right from the start. And that Ronny Olsen aka ronnanol is in fact a lying piece of scamming s..t! Really, how much "proof" do we need here? I have made conclusions based on much less before ...That turned out to be right. I feel extra bad that I actually believed him in his PM´s and that he kept me believing that he in fact was trying to find a solution to this. Now there are WAY to many coincidences her to look away from. And in addition to you links I have learnt that he has sold the same Breitling mentioned on Breitlingsource also on a Norwegian equivalent of ebay. He really is a big A-hole!!! He is a member on an Norwegian watch forum also (the one we have) and this is also a BIG thread over here in our forum. The consencus have been more or less exactly the same as here on 3T, until now. Two Norwegian forum members have their watches in the mail to Ronny Olsen as we speak, and have made arrangements to trade watches. And we are talking yet another PAM and an IWC here, so not small sums here. Sorry to say William ,but you were right. This is a scam, and you are probably out all your money. I for one will do what I can to make his life as hard as possible, because this will not just fly in my book. And that is the feeling most others have on the Norwegian forum also. So he is burned now, only to late. |

And here is the culprit ... http://nb-no.facebook.com/people/Ronny-Olsen/570696352 I am completely agreeing that we should not hang people out to dry before guilt has been confirmed. But in this case I really feel that there is more than enough evidence, and also he has not replied to any of my PM´s since this whole thing took a turn for the bad for him. Neither has he made ANY comments on the thread about this and him on the Norwegian forum, and I can see that he has been active there several times since last night. As it looks he has now stolen Williams hard earned $5700, gotten another $1500 from a Norwegian forum member as long as his PAM in a trade, AND he has an IWC Aquatimer incoming, also in a trade with a Norwegian forum member (And just a wild guess, but don´t think the watches he has promised to send in return for the trades are gonna show up. Norway is a small country, and the watch enthusiast community minimal, so he will not be able to get away with this. Can´t really believe that he thought it would work in the first place??? |

My guess is that he tried to keep the watch and then claim the money back from Paypal. I have no clue if he was successful but that was probably the plan. Check the video at 0.31min in and you will see the white paper he put over the hole in the package where he sneaked out the content before recording.. I do hope everything works out for you. These kind of people are the scum on earth :( Take care Best, Per |

I weighed my Panerai with boxes and everything and it weighs 1,8KG, so its impossible that a Panerai would weigh 1,4KG wrapped up in a box for shipping. That is absolutely something that makes your case stronger as the weight pretty much makes it impossible for it being a Panerai with box in that box from the beginning. |

I will publicly post what I said to William.... At first I thought this was a customs job, until I saw that video of the guy opening the "Breitling" Rock. I instantly recognized him from Facebook. I like to see Benarus customers faces and when I have someone emailing me back and forth I look them up on the Benarus Facebook page just to see them. Ronny was emailing me about reserving a Megalodon, he actually reserved 3 but did not buy any. I remember looking at his Facebook page when he was emailing me. When I saw the guy in the video, I thought it looked exactly like him, shaved head, dark beard, tattoos. So I told William what I thought and I gave him the link to the Facebook page. At first I thought I should not get involved, but I know that I should not hold back information that might be helpful so I let William know. |

Yes, this Breitling: Supposedly replaced by a stone...http://www.breitlingsource.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=23528 The package in the movie is whiter than a bride's dress when coming from Nederland after days of transport...And so on. He tried to remain anonymous by paying the watch from his woman's Paypal address and having it sent to a friend in Sweden "Jørn Arve Norbergsen" This watch was sold in Norway by Ronny a half year later...http://www.finn.no/finn/torget/tilsalgs/annonse?finnkode=27934434 It's no point to smear the crap anymore anyway: He knows who he is and we know it as well. Norway is a very little country and he should take the first plane to Venezuela if he want to enjoy this stolen money... |

It's most unlikely that the Norwegian police would work hard on this case, specially since you are in the US. But he has deals ongoing with Norwegians and this may interest them. You have to wait buddy. Things don't happen overnight sadly but he knows what he should do. Right now he's like a rat in a corner. |

you need to file a international claim with the USPS immediately...instructions are below. File an Insurance Claim Most of the 700 million pieces of mail we handle every year arrive safely, but when things don’t go as planned we want to get any issues resolved quickly. Because international claims require coordination with a foreign postal service, they’re handled differently than domestic claims. Call our International Inquiry Center at 1-800-222-1811 to get started. You’ll need to have the following information about your package…
When can you file an international claim? The timeframe for filing an international claim and who can file it varies with each service Product/Extra Service Who When to file (from mailing date) No sooner than When to file (from mailing date) No later than Global Express Guaranteed® U.S. Sender Only 3 days1 30 days Express Mail International® U.S. Sender Only 3 days2 90 days Express Mail International® with Guarantee U.S. Sender Only 3 days1 30 days3 Priority Mail International®4 Sender or Recipient 7 days 6 months Registered Mail™ Service Sender or Recipient 7 days 6 months 1. The Postal Service® accepts inquiries for Priority Mail International flat rate envelopes and small Flat Rate Boxes only if the sender had purchased registered service. What do you need to file an international claim? 1 - Approval from our International Inquiry Center Call 1-800-222-1811 to start your claim and get an international claim form. 2 - Evidence of Insurance You’ll need the original mailing receipt. Unfortunately, we can’t accept photocopies. 3 - Evidence of Value You’ll also need documents to show the item’s value or repair costs, such as sales receipts or invoices. What if I’m the recipient of a damaged international shipment? If you receive an article that was sent from abroad that is damaged or has some contents missing, take it to any Post Office™ right away. Be sure to bring the item, the mailing container, wrapping, packaging, and any other contents. The Post Office will verify the damage and have you complete a claim form. The package may have to be returned to its country of origin to complete this claim. |

That would be the quickest way to get your money back(less the plane ticket of course). |

JMO Johnny, you are way too kind...Ernie is, and always has been a self-centered, self absorbed scum sucking pig that happened to start a forum so he could sell his overpriced watches...and in most cases, I believe he picks his Moderators (with a couple of exceptions) by the quality of their ability to lie, cheat, steal and give great head - but that's just an educated guess! What is fact, and therefore not just an educated guess, is the he doesn't give a s-h-i-t about any of his forum members, just his advertisers! William... I'm just checking this thread and i've been shocked about what you've been dealing with the past couple of days... To have your dreams of acquiring a "Grail" go to being scanned out if your hard earned money must be a real pain... I feel for you buddy and pray that everything ends up with you getting your money back!! To me, $100 is a lot of money for a watch let alone $5,700 so I completely comprehend and accept your thoughts and comments even though at the beginning of this thread and the one @wus you were asked to take a chill pill... I know i'm nowhere near Norway or the States so I guess there's little help I could give, but please keep in mind that i'm praying for you and I hope all this end up well for you! |

Got a mail from Ronny telling that he wired full refund to William: I guess that he has no reason to lie there. So I propose that we all cool off and wait for William's confirmation who may take a few days. I'm sure that both parts want this case closed more than anything right now. On my side, I don't intent to spit any venom around that: I guess that you all been seeing how this case got developed around forums and to tell the truth this case was solved by civilized exchange of emails between adults. I didn't call Ronny any names during those exchanges: There was no point in that. He done the right choice at the end and I hope that everybody learned a lesson in that story. Thanks to those from 3T who communicated with me, I was glad to be there and help William as I know how hard he worked for his money: I do too myself. William deserved help from Rolf and me as we was closest and we are glad we could stand for him. |

ahhh yeas...the old stone fence scam!!! all kidding aside, just a side note as I have been reading the thread on the scammers paradise fora, and how some feel that by using Paypal this could have been avoided or at least eased the pain somehow with a claim as recourse. ..Paypal would have been no different than wire transfer, because Paypal does not protect you against items "not received as described",or an empty box unless it is a Ebay purchase...all the seller would have had to do if a claim was made, was to provide proof he shipped it with the shipping info and receipt. |
