Been holding out for a while, but since I've been playing around with a new "hackintosh" I figured some watch pictures were a good test... (As a Mac Virgin I can tell you your first exposure to a Mac should really not be building a "hackintosh"!)

I've become really disenfranchised with giant Chinese boat anchors with overrated Chinese ETA movements. So lately I've been on the hunt for some bargain brand watches and found these two...

First up the new Tissot Seastar 300m diver, available in metal bracelet or with rubber dive strap, I bought mine new on the bracelet and I will have to order the strap from Tissot. It can be bought for around $650.00 online.

Features include:
  • Blue PVD bezel.
  • Blue dial with Blue luminous hands and dot hour markers.
  • Arabic numerals.
  • Blue Luminiscent hands and markers.
  • Date display.
  • Swiss automatic movement.
  • Sapphire crystal.
  • Display case back.
  • Case diameter 42mm.
  • Case thickness 12 mm.
  • The new Seastar has been around for a year or better but seems to be largely undiscovered in the forum community...
The only complaint I have with it is it has 19mm lugs so strap and bracelet changes will be a bit limited... overall it still gets placed in the keeper box!

Next up a used Tag Heuer Aquaracer found for around $700.00 in good used condition on the forums (I've seen the black one sell for less on eBay), it just needed a little time with the dremel to polish the bracelet links and some scotchbrite 3m pad work on the brushed finish on the case...

It came "watch only" so I had to buy a tag box set to satisfy the O.C.D. in me...

The usual highlights for a 300m diver, sapphire super lume etc,

Two great watches that leave me with no doubts about the money I spent on them!

I really like the all dial style of the new Seastar VS the old one... it's a subtle blue color too, it's nicer than I expected and even seems to wear a little big... maybe the smaller bracelet and lugs is what does it...

Nice blue pieces! I wonder about the new bezel filling of the Tissot compare to the older version Seastar who was chipping out...
But it seems to look much better!
