Hi guys, Haven`t been very active in here lately, as I have been busy with work for some time (but I have been in to just get the lay of the land once and again) But as I got my first purchase for 2013 just yesterday, I thought it would be apropriate to do a little unboxing here:0) Was going to wait until my 40th birthday for this, but since I got only crap for christmas, I decided that daddy needed at least one nice present (and the best ones you allways buy your self, right?) It did however cost me a new sofa as well, as my misses said "if you can afford that watch, then you can afford a new sofa as well ...but if you can`t afford a sofa guess you can`t afford the watch either ..." ARGHHH! Well, my money to do what I want with, but never payed of in the long run to take fights one does not need with the wify. So now everyone is smiling Now, pictures ... ![]() Yes, it is the Rolex Sea Dweller 16600 (prefere this over the latest Deep Sea acctually) ![]() Wanted one that had everything it came with, so took some time finding the right one:0) ![]() ![]() ![]() Side by side with my Omega 2254. Wears quite a bit smaller (and looks so too) But is only 1mm smaller ![]() The Omega wins the lume pretty easy, but the Sea Dweller was still good enough to read at 05:00 in the morning, so more than enough imo ![]() ![]() Pretty sure this is not my last Rollie |

Big congrats on the excellent Christmas pickup FnuSnu!!! The Sea Dweller 16600 is a LONG standing grail of mine...absolutely love it! Thanks so much for the sweet comparison photos with the 2254.50! I own that Omega so it is a great point of reference! I am assuming that even though the Sea Dweller is smaller in diameter by ~ 1mm, that it actually wears a little larger on the wrist due to the greater thickness at 14.8mm versus the 2254 at 11.5mm thick. Would you agree? Congrats and enjoy this sweet grail pickup!!!! |

To Stew, regarding size and compared to the 2254 (really looked long and hard for comparison pictures of the two myself, before I bought it. As I think the 2254 is the perfect size for me. But only found a few photos and not showing what I needed. So really happy if my photo can help you:=) But even thoug the Sea Dweller sits quite a bit higher on the wrist, I still feel the SMP wears bigger. The SD kinda looks like a womens watch (can`t belive I said that ...) compared to most of my other watches, and is by far the smallest watch I own. Also the SD has an about 1,5mm smaller dial than the Submariner, due to the thicker case on it. And as we know, layout and size of the dial will often be the prominent thing as to size, at least for looks. And also I think the case itself on the SMP just feels bigger due to the fatter lugs on it, and also the mor organic looking crown guard (much more edges on the SD) When I bought the SD the seller also had a "Hulk" for sale, and as it has the same case (at least for size) I compared the two (sorry, no photos of that) And as the hulk has the new maxi dail and hands, it almost dwarfed (exagerating a bit here, hehe) the SD. At least it looked bigger. And that is dial alone. Still getting used to the smaller size of the SD here, but as I smell love in the air here, I guess I`ll get used to my new petit. |

Gigantic Congrats on the SD, Rolf! You will eventually learn to love it the most among all your watches. It's ideal size, gentle rise on the wrist plus no nonsense accuracy will amaze you. I can almost predict it will be a keeper (a sofa isn't......). Enjoy it in good health amigo |
